I filed mine (i -130) january 5. My noa1 is jan 10 2013. Till now we never heard from uscis since then... Worst thing is we cannot check our status online bec it has "MSC" on my reciept...

Well, All i know is waiting is not fun.

Have you tried checking it online though? I have MSC on mine and see it perfectly fine.

I'm the beneficiary.

Don't have a timeline? Don't know how to get started with it? Do it for the statistics sake: VJ video guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Just because you have an MSC number doesn't mean you cant check it online!

Sometimes cases appear on the site months later. If you received a letter saying that the case is in the heart, then everything is fine, wait.

if it has the MSC on it, then it must be the National Benefits center. Go to USCIS.gov and on the home screen type in the MSC+number you will get your status.

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

I filed for my mother in January, NOA 1 date of Jan 23 and still haven't heard anything. I called and spoke with Tier 2 and they told me the case was transfered from NBC to the Buffalo local office (even though im not frmo NY). They said my case reviewed in May but no decision was made. The Tier2 person sent a request to buffalo and all i got from them was a letter saying that they're processing my application and they can't give me a time wheni t will be finished.

Did somethign like this happen to anyone else? If so what should i do? Should i contact my senator?

Thank you in advance.

Well my hubby called USCIS yet again yesterday, and this time they said that our case was transferred to the Orlando field office on May 18. The last few times we have called, they said it wasn't being transferred and that it was staying at NBC. Argh. At least now we can possibly make an infopass to see what's going on.
