Still waiting for my NOA2 :(

IR1/CR1 Visa - We are using a lawyer!

Embassy: Montreal, Canada

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

Embassy
04 Sept 2014 -- Medical
11 Sept 2014 -- Interview - APPROVED!!!!
15 Sept 2014 -- Package arrived at Loomis location!!!

**03 Oct 2014 -- POE!! **

I NOW LIVE IN OCALA, FL!!!!

Hi

I had a similar problem ... try calling USCIS and speaking to a tier 2 to find out where it is ... we also got a senator involved .. not sure how much that helped because they didnt get back to us but between the constant phone calls to USCIS and the senator something much have worked because NVC received out file a few weeks ago .. (almost 2 months after we were approved) ... some others on this site have said that some local offices are apparently keeping approvals for extended periods of time in order to send them to NVC in batches.... I hope it works out for you smile.png

Thanks Nimz... I also get senator and my local congressman involved in this issue. Went to Info Pass this morning and found out that it's already been sent to NVC on June 24.

Mine took 1 Month to be send over to NVC. Seems like getting sentator involved might help.

the timelines on vj for cr1 have to be thrown out due to local office involvement

your petition is looking like the 6 months

either way after 5 you can file your service requests and start pursuing the beyond processing times expectations

or.. do an infopass and talk with someone

local offices forward the petitions to nvc inconsistently.. some go right away, others have waited up to 90 days

Our I-864EZ got kicked back because of beaurocratic ambiguity. Beware, Part 5, Line 19 requests "My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS form 1040EZ) as reported......

NVC said the numbers didnt match. I used the "adjusted gross" clarified in the parens. There is a line for "total income" on the tax transcripts that is different (in some cases) than the adjusted gross.

So; I now resubmit a new I-864EZ using the "total income" line in the transcripts.

This is complete beaurocracy because it misses the intent of the I-864.....to prove that your income is above 125% poverty level. They are only focused on their forms.

NVC accepted the I-230 so far with no issues yet. Lets see how accurate the rest of our paperwork remains after refering to the ambiguous instructions and sending them the original supporting documents.

And the clock ticks...tic toc, tic toc.

Meanwhile; if I want a visa to visit Vietnam, it takes 3 days.

so the total income comes from the previous tax return and not current if its different?

so the total income comes from the previous tax return and not current if its different?

On the I-864EZ

Part 5 line 19 is the line that NVC had issue with.

My 2012 Tax return transcript has a "total income" line and a "gross adjusted income" line. I used the "gross adjusted income" line because that is what is in the instructions. However, NVC wanted the number from the "total income" line.

The new number is from the "total income" line on the transcript.

So, I recommend using the "total income" line on your tax return instead of the "gross adjusted income".

But please, call the NVC to get official clarification. Dont rely on my advice. Im just describing what happend to me.
