If anyone wants to drop the USCIS an e mail you may have a better response than calling them.

My wife sent them the following e mail 2 weeks ago and we just today got the reply telling us our case was sent to the Washington DC field office on the 28th Feb.

Send an e mail to: NCSC-Customerconnet@uscis.dhs.gov

All she put was:

------------

Could you please tell me if my I-130 petition has been transferred to a local office, or if it is still at the National Benefits Center?

My case number is: XXXX

Could you also tell me when my case number will appear online on the USCIS website?

Many thanks,

---------------

They didnt say about the case number but im not bothered, i know where the petition is and that its being processed.

I just tried emailing today and got the following reply:

Did anyone get a similar message? What does required review mean? I am filing from abroad (Canada).

Not sure what to make of that email they sent you. They seem very redundant and beating around the bush with their reply. But from what I can glean from it, it sounds like they are saying the have your case...but that no one has had the chance to start reviewing it yet.

When did you send them your email? It's been well over a month since I emailed USCIS and still have not gotten a response.

I got an update on my case today. I called USCIS and spoke to a Tier 2 rep. The rep told me that the petition for my wife's visa was sent to the Newark field office on March 14. I asked about how long would it take for Newark to process the case and the rep said that it should be within 90 days from when they receive the file for them to adjudicate it. I know Newark currently has something like 8,000 I-130s...so not sure how accurate that estimate is. But it's the most information I've gotten so far on my case and it just feels good to know where it is and that it's had some movement. If the 90-day estimate is right then I'm looking at mid- to late-June to get NOA2. Keeping fingers crossed!

That's better than what iI got. I called today after putting in a request earlier this month for information. They said I would receive something by today the 16th. The teir 2 representative told me that Ineed to 'calmn down'. I have at least another month before my case is late in the processing. Told me to call back in 30 days. My acceptance date was Jan 14th. I just wanted to know a status update and iI got nothing.

I know it's frustrating, but don't get discouraged by them. The previous time I called, the Tier 2 rep they connected me I had little confidence in and they gave me information I knew was completely false. I then emailed them and never got a response. Fortunately, this time when I called I got someone on the phone who I felt knew what they were doing. Don't wait the 30 days. Call back and talk to another Tier 2 rep. They should be able to give you an update at this time.

This is really painful!!! We still have not been approved. We're sitting here watching others with the same priority dates being approved while we still wait....I'm pretty sure there are others in the same boat as us..... Are there????? Congratulations to those who have already been approved and may the rest of us who are still waiting be blessed with patience. God Bless.....
