Also what if I don't have a birth certificate? Is a Canadian citizenship sufficient? I was born in Laos and on a farm they don't dive things out like that!

No, I'm pretty sure it has to be your birth certificate.

As for the tax records, I'm not entirely sure - I included all three years - but you could try it with one. Of course, you could risk getting a checklist (RFE).

I received my NOA 2 hard copy a week ago, NoA 2 date was March 11.

I called up NVC today and the rep gave me my case number, said it was assigned March 27.

But, unlucky us... Guess what? They messed up the part about which consulate I should be referrred. I am from the Philippines but it was everywhere (all the forms, copies of my passport pages etc) which CLEARLY stated that my current residence is JAPAN. like seriously, why would NVC think I am still in Manila? I thought they scrutinized every aspect of the forms we send them. Why would they even miss such a blatantly obvious fact???

I e-mailed NVCINQUIRY and requested the change of assigned consulate to my closest consulate. I also enumerated all the various proof we included in the I-130 for proof of my current residence. I would hate to resend the same proof to them. Grr.

Wish us luck that this gets corrected quickly please!

this is the same for a lot of people.. i too am in the same boat, but also have the addtional issue where they spelled my wife's name wrong. i called uscis, spoke with a tier 2 to get the name thing fixed and found my file was shipped out to a field office on march 13. since i can not see anything online, i have made an infopass to find out the status, which i am sure is sitting and waiting for someone to get it on their desk, but hey, can't hurt rite? point is that you can call and they can see your file and tell you where it is but only if you speak with a tier 2.. my wait time was almost thirty minutes, but well worth it

yes like happytobe said.. don't press anything.. then the wait for the tier two will be up to 30 minutes or so

ha same for me my infopass is april 12.. cross your fingers i was just reading a 130 feb filer that was approved.. local office via the nbc.. goood luck to everyone

We're one of the "well, we sure feel like we're in limbo @ MSC" Jan filers (NOA1 1/16), but we recently got an RFE dated 3/27 so I guess someone is looking at things over there. We're to send our additional proof to a SF address - I wonder if this means we got assigned to CSC? Our online case status, as might be expected, is still blank. We plan to send 10 pages of boarding pass stub scans and a bunch of photos. So, MSC limbo people, have hope.

If anyone wants to drop the USCIS an e mail you may have a better response than calling them.

My wife sent them the following e mail 2 weeks ago and we just today got the reply telling us our case was sent to the Washington DC field office on the 28th Feb.

They didnt say about the case number but im not bothered, i know where the petition is and that its being processed.
