Anyone at over 45 days since their NOA1 that isn't able to check status online? I'm coming up to my 45 days and wondering if I should expect my case to show up online.

Me too. I'm beyond the 45 day mark (NOA1 dated 1/14/13) and I'm still not able to check status online. Some have posted on this forum that there case number was available online within days others have stated that it took longer than the 45 days or never even showed up online. :( I stopped checking for it.

Finally recieved the NOA 2 which was approved on 1 st of march . Now whats the next step for me ....

Thanks

I am also applying for IR-1 visa for my wife. I am a little ahead of you so if you have any questions ask me.

Now your Case should be sent by USCIS to the Department of State/NVC. The NVC process can go slowly or quickly depending somewhat on your level of effort. Meanwhile prepare your paperwork! Affidavit of Support (I-864) and supporting documents; Beneficiary's DS-230 and supporting documents. Because, once you get your case number from NVC things can go very quickly and if you aren't prepared you will be slowing your case down.

NVC will receive your I-130 from USCIS and then a week or two will go by before you are given an NVC Case Number. One week after they have received your case start calling the NVC with your USCIS case number handy. One day they will ask you what the name and DOB of the Beneficiary and Petitioner are - that's how you'll know they have entered your case, and will be giving you your NVC case number on that call. Very Important - on that same call give them the petitioners and beneficiary's email address! After doing that they will email you all correspondence and you will get through the NVC process a lot quicker. There is more but this will get you through the next three weeks.

Search the Wiki here for LingChe NVC ShortCut - this will explain the entire process - this is good!

Also review the process of sending the Beneficiary's DS-3032 as an email. You will do this after you have an NVC case number and after they have billed you for the AOS via email (register your email with NVC-Call every day-if you register your email within a day or two of them creating your case number you will also get DS-3032 via email and not snail-mail)

Finally recieved the NOA 2 which was approved on 1 st of march . Now whats the next step for me ....

Thanks

Oh, come to the March group for IR-1 filers. That's where I hang out.

I wasn't able to check until they had already approved my case! Then a few days later it was mailed off to the NVC. You might call USCIS and see what the status is.

I called earlier this week and was told that because it was over 45 days since my NOA1 I could either (i) leave a message, (ii)hold for a tier 2 rep (I held for 30 minutes and gave up) and/or send an email to ncsc-customerconnect@uscis.dhs.gov. I was told the email would be responded to within 10 business days - we shall see. I don't know if they will respond to emails if you don't call first - but if someone wants to try, I hope this information proves useful to you.

I got an email response today (4 business days after I emailed). Here's the text of the email:

"On behalf of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), thank you for your email dated March , 2013, regarding the status of your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. This email has been assigned case # [xxxxxx]. We understand the concern that caused you to write. USCIS records show that your Form I-130 petition was received on January 14, 2013. The National Benefits Center transferred your case to the Santa Ana Field Office (SAA) on February 27, 2013. Once the SAA completes their review, you will receive a Notice of Action by mail, at the address on file. If you have further questions or concerns regarding your case, you may make an InfoPass appointment via our website at www.uscis.gov, to speak to an Immigration Services Officer. We trust that this information is helpful. Sincerely,National Customer Service Center"

Hope this is helpful to someone. I have no idea what to expect from the Santa Ana Field Office. If anyone has information, please let me know!
