Called NVC. Interview scheduled for 3rd week of April. My PD is Nov 4. Im happy but was hoping for 1st week of April since my PD is Nov 4. Is there anyway to talk to Consulate and move it up a bit?

Congratulations!

You can certainly try contacting your consulate for an earlier interview appointment. There was someone in the Scandinavian forum last year who had managed to get an earlier appointment at the Stockholm embassy. I am not sure if your consulate would be willing to be equally flexible, but it's worth a try.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

Congratulations!

Thank you Athena. I appreciate your help. I will try to get in touch with the consulate, not sure thought what would be a compelling enough reason for them to move it.

how was your interview?

Finally!!!!, I called NVC and my family's interview is scheduled during the first week of April.

I guess due to Mumbai consulate being busy they could not schedule the interview in March even though we were current in March.

My wife interview went very Well. She just asked for tax and police document. At the time of interview just asked couple questions like name, how I can to states and how long been married.

At the end he approved our visa and now online status said visa issued. And has been printed.

Thank you all for giving well information on side. My wife will be here march 23. Thank you again and good luck to all who is waiting for their visa.

You can fly the as soon as you have received the passport with visa stamped on it. You could fly the same day of interview but what if there are delays in getting passport.

After visa approval, ask your spouse to pay $165 immigrant fee. This fee can be paid after you arrive in the US. You need to pay this fee to get physical Green Card.

2011 Tax Return would be fine. 2012 tax filing officially runs until mid April of 2013 and I don't think Consulates ask 2012 Tax Returns until May.

Thank u so much listeria ... For UR supportive answer .. N I think I will get d passport in the evening if not then will wait for a few days more but just can't wait anymore !!!!

Hi Rajugc..Congratulation,,,good.gif...Did you get a ITIN number for your wife and Add her to your taxes or you just file marriage filing separetly?

No, I field my all tax as a single because of I don't have itin number.
