Pay a fee, talk to an immigration lawyer. This is not subject to be discussed openly where many folks on this board love to scare those who "plan" for the eventual.

Everything has a risk. People tent to mistake the greencard as license to stay. Having a LPR is to allow you re-enter the United States when you return from ANYWHERE outside of the border. If you stay here inside the US, you will almost never have to show it. Notice you live in AZ, then maybe the cops will ask for proof of resident.

Again, this matter should be addressed by the professional. Those who keep saying and accusing people who post questions about this matter that they are "committing immigration fraud" need to calm down. We got it!
