for the second time i have received a notice that the alien registration number has been changed,this happened some hours after i sent the request of expedite due to military deployment and i dont know what it means sinceis the second time i get this notice(it was dated today,but the first one was dated 28th January)

Hello everyone!

I am new to this site, and i was just looking around trying to find out information. As i read this post, I was kind of relieved i am not the only who received a notice the alien registration number had changed! I send the I-129F on Jan 26th, they received it in Dallas on Jan 28th. I received the NOA1 feb 6th and when i went to check online, it said the case was in "initial review" but it also said that on the 4th of Feb, the alien registration number had changed. I got worried something was wrong. I called USCIS, and the first person i talked to, i couldnt even understand him. Pretty much, i got no answers! I called again later on today and spoke with a different lady and i didnt get a straight answer. She pretty much said something about I dont need a registration number for now, that number is assigned when my fiance receives his visa. And that i could just use the receipt number to check my case online or on the phone. So i am still confused. I read somewhere else on a post, it meant the case will be approved soon and to expect the NOA2 anytime. does anybody know about this, if this is true?? I wish that was true!!! but based on the processing time for the california processing center, they are working on cases from July 2012. -__-

Dont worry there is nothing wrong with your case its a normal thing and no it doesnt mean ull be approved soon Everyone is getting this now. Simple

It may mean they r working on your case and now a new number was assigned..maybe or approal maybe. Youll know soon in the next few weeks I dont understand how you would know it was the alien registration number , when I get a txt it just says that its been updated i thought? Hmm how did you know it was about that?

I receive the same message today(07Feb2013). I was very excited when I receive the text but get disappointed when I check online.

Although it seems everyone is getting the same message, I'm still hoping for a miracle. Why couldn't I meet my fiance in Haiti? We would have been approved in a week !

Jan 9th - Received email notification

Jan 10th - Checked the status online and gets: "On January 10, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."

XX XX - Until now no NOA1 hard copy yet

It's been more than a month now and my fiance doesn't have the NOA1 Hard copy yet. By the way, he's from the Military too.

Any idea what happening on our case??

Im sure some of you have seen my posts. I was amoung many of the other december and november filers who was getting my hopes up about the whole "your fiance alien registration number has been changed".

I hate to be the one to say it but it IS a glitch. I called USCIS before..I got up past the original lady to immigration ..the lady said..all looks well, your case has been assigned an alien number..i took that as a great thing and started to let people know..but I still just didnt get it..I couldnt accept it. I called again and waited an hour on the phone..got to a really nice immigration officer who actually knew what he was talking about. He said just TODAY he personally has gotten tons of calls about this and it IS a glitch he said. These people arent getting an alien registration number this fast and its still the same. I saw another person say this but since I called and the lady sounded so SURE everything was fine and in place, that maybe SOME of us are really getting something special. Sad news "Almost all, or probably ALL of these people are just getting the glitch, Im so sorry if this is getting peoples hopes up"-exact quote from him. Really nice, felt like he actually felt bad.

Im not too sad because I really didnt think it could happen, but there was a little light burning in me saying maybe just maybe its true

Anyways,, he did say that some people are getting NOA2s at 3 months and 4 months(No one on VJ huh!) and he wished me luck to get an early NOA2. Just thought Id let you all know, and all of us should have listened to our "elders"..aka the people here that know so much more and have been going through this longer!

And hey..Not everyone might have the same answer as mine..maybe there really is someone who is gonna get a VERY fast NOA2! I hope so, Id love to see someone get so lucky!

Anyways I really hope my previous post didnt get anyones hope up even higher, I just trusted the lady but now I know better haha. I hope everyone stays happy and I wish the best for everyone and hope everyone gets fast NOA2s and all those strong people who have already been waiting so long, I hope you gets urs even faster!

I just read through all this, so that was just a glitch.

I read in some thread here before that they got their NOA2 after 3 months. The alien fiance was from UK. I guess it depends on the country.

Not so much a glitch. It seems that prior to December or so, the Alien registration number was generally not being assigned until someone was actually adjucating the petition. So when you saw that "A number" update, it was a sign of imminent approval. But now it seems they are giving the Alien Registration number almost immediatly, so that message is no longer indicitive of imminent approval. If someone who filed months ago and never got that message suddenly sees it, it is still likely a good sign. For us newbies, it doesn't really mean anything.

Well it took over a week for us to get ours and i live VERY close to CSC, it depends where you are from ur service center, may be delays and also uscis has been having major things going on and much lagging. You should def just call them and ask whats going on
