Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I am a US citizen and would like to bring my parents to USA. Before I start filing my I-130 petition form, I would like to know if my husband could sponsor my parents for me. He has a green card and I am not working.

I would appreciate any response. Thanks in advance :-)

You will be the main sponsor since they are your parents.

Your husband can be your co-sponsor. If his income allows him to be one.

Thank you for your answer. My main concern was that he is not a US citizen. I have found out on the uscis.gov web page that my husband can joint sponsor my parents.

thank you for your help :-)

I will need a lot of help when I start filing the form soon.

you would be the petitioner on the I-130 and primary sponser on the I-864.

Your husband can be a joint-sponser on a 2nd I-864.

Good Luck !

I know i have to do two I-864, one for my mother one for my father. When I look at the I-864 i think i don't need to fill in the form because it is only for the sponsor since I can not sponsor(not working)my husband filling should be okay. i am the petitioner. that is what i see from I-864 form. I might be wrong I just started looking at the forms today.

thank you for your response.

you, the petitioner, are the primary sponser on the I-864.

There's no way round that.

So what if you show 0 income? Yer required to show that, as well.

The co-sponser fills out an I-864 or I-864A (thats yer husband).

Two humans to immigrate? two sets of i-864 on you, two on yer husband.

thank you for your help.

one human = 2 I-864s (one on you, one on yer husband)

have two humans for immigrating? that's 4 I-864s..

I think your husband qualifies to use the I-864A instead of the I-864, so check that, when yer casefile is at NVC.

Each set of TWO I-864s is submitted on EACH Human (the intending immigrant) .

Good Luck !

Just remember - the I-864, affadavit of support, is NOT needed for I-130 submittal.

It's needed at NVC , for document intake, after the I-130 is approved.

You've some time to suss this out, aye?
