silly question .. how you guys dress up on interview day ?

My husband wore khaki pants and a nice polo shirt for his interview. The females I saw were wearing business casual skirts with nice blouses/cardigans and dresses. Because I was there with him, I just wore a nice top and black pants that I would normally wear as a teacher.

I totally agree that one should wear business casual clothes to the interview. It is simply out of respect. HOWEVER, due to chaos at her work, my wife ended up wearing her work SCRUBS to the interview. Obviously when I picked her up to go to the interview I freaked. Unfortunately, there was simply no time stop and buy clothes. I told her to apologize to the officer for her attire when she got called. She did. Female interviewer laughed and said it was no problem at all. She also said we all have to work and too often the interview time clashes with work. The officer also chuckled and said based on her attire that she confirmed her job she listed on the N-400.

In summary, while one should make every effort to dress appropriately, I can attest that if you must go in your work uniform they seem to understand.

My wife passed her interview and oath scheduled for mid June.

Congratulations to all who passed and good luck to those approaching their interviews and oath. I applied for my passport last week, and I had to send my naturalization certificate, therefore I cannot update my social security yet I wonder how long in will take for the passport I arrive 5 weeks?

Oath Ceremony took place in Marquette, MI on Friday. 35 new citizens there including snowflowers daughter from the dec filings. The new citizens sat with their friends / family throughout the ceremony which was nice, the whole ceremony was fairly short lasting just under an hour. As I am from a different county I have to apply to vote locally and then apply for the passport. Journey not quite done but almost there!

^{Happy Anniversary to me! 90 days since the last status change and absolutely nothing! Processing time in NY was just revised to 7.4 months. What is really unbelievable is the fact that one fellow NYer is already a US citizen and another one will be soon. This Sunday it will be 5 months since I filed. I guess 2.4 more to go.}

^{Will call USCIS today but don't believe that will change much.}

Definitely get your senator or congressman/congresswoman of your state involved in this, USCIS tend to move things faster when you get them involved. Atleast that's what I would do.

Out of curiousity, if you don't mind me asking --- Did you went for the interview? If yes, did you pass or decision cannot be made?

Just came back from interview and dicision can not be made yet. Lady was very nice and i was missing w2 for 2011 and my wife doctor letter coz she is out of job since 3 years. She gave me pink envelope and said me to mail it or drop it off with 2 documents with in month. And i ahould be fine. I will be dropping off those docs with in this week. What you think friends i should be fine???

7.Who was President during World War II ?

8.Who did the United States fight in World War II ?

and she asked where is the White House?

and tell me to write The White House in the Washington DC

Congrats... Question #1 might seem tricky cause it's not one of the questions in the naturalization test but if you invert the QA (ie, what is the question that leads to the answer "The constitutions").. then it will help... Answer: supreme law of the land ..

Journey is almost done.. I'm thinking we're both going to have the same oath ceremony .. there was one on 23rd May and the next one is on 26th June.

Your fine AS LONG AS you mail them before the deadline.

Based on our list, the two people who had interviews this week already had them this morning. Bobbybrown, I think things should be good as long as you get those documents in this week as you mentioned. Keep us updated when you do get a response. TOT, congratulations! Hope your oath ceremony is scheduled soon.
