I think there is an issue with this format. First you get inline for the interview and then you get the Interview letter. Am I correct ?

I tried calling the IRS as well to no avail, I am filing my N-400 tomorrow through a program they have here my state that helps people get their citizenship for the low cost of $20 yaay for those cheap attorneys willing to help.Anyhow the attorney advised me not to bring tax transcripts or documentation for my marriage based since I will only need to bring those to the interview. I asked are you sure since the application says that you have to send it. Who knows, but according to him, he has many cases (Hundredths of people every month) like this and you do not need to bring them.. So requested the transcripts and they will be here before my interview :) hope this doesn't delay anything. I am trusting his word... at the end he is the attorney.

Think of it this way: tax return = purchase order (forms that you submit to IRS) and tax transcript = receipt (showing IRS has accepted your tax return submittion and you truly did file tax with IRS).

That's why USCIS always prefer to have tax transcript over tax return because anyone can create a tax return doesn't mean they submit it or it's correct. But the transcript is printed directly from IRS in a different format than tax return (you'll see when you order it, although the final number is the same, the format of the form is entirely different) and it's basically a proof to show both: a) you have filed taxes b) you and your spouse are still together.

Hence there's a OR between a) b) c) in the items they ask for. If you have your tax transcript, you don't need to submit leases or morgage or bank statements. I heard you can just bring those extra documents to the interview just in case they ask.

To obtain a transcript, you can order online, via phone or in person at your local IRS office.

I read online somewhere that it is rare to get an rfe for N400 because everyone has to get an interview. Anything that is missing can be brought to the interview. Don't know if it's true, but it sounds like he had experience. I have heard of cases being put in hold after the interview for missing documents though.

So, my husband travels (many time out of the country) as a technician almost every week... I hope after the oath, he will have to go to the passport agency in Miami to get a same day passport made (his company will give him a letter stating that he has to leave the county for work) which is a pain..... But, One question, I would assume then that he will have to change his status for his global entry as he will not have his green card? Any idea what this entails? With immigration at miami airport, global entry is a godsend!

Didn't you say you send yours on 01/04? I sent mine on 01/03 and they it didn't get delivered by 01/09. I forgot to request email/text NOA so i have to wait for NOA actual letter. Could you please let me know when you receive the actual NOA letter and biometrics? I heard u said u got the text on the 8th or something. Alsp, i am using PO box as my mailing address since it's more secure to get all my important mails sent to there, we have to share mailbox at our physical address and experienced some messed up delivery sometimes. Anyhow, I hope PO box as mailing address is OK to use for N400 as mailing address.

Sure, I will let you know. We have yet to get anything in the mail. My package was sent 1/4, delivered on 1/7, marked as received by USCIS on 1/8. I received a text/email confirmation on 1/10 which said wait 7-10 days for NOA1. I signed up for alerts on the USCIS website with my case number and was notified that biometrics letter was sent out today. I thought NOA1 was sent on the 10th when the email was sent, but maybe not since it has not arrived yet. From reading in another month's thread, it sounded like someone there received biometrics and NOA1 together, so perhaps they do that to save money on postage. Who knows? At any rate, I will keep you updated if we receive anything more. Good luck to you!

Hi babyandtran,

This info might help you coz we sent the package on the same

day,1/03/13, to Phoenix. My package was delivered to Phoenix on 1/07/13. I received a text

message for NOA on 1/10/13 and then I received the NOA via regular mail last

Saturday 1/12/13. The notice date was 1/9/13, a day earlier than the text message.

I just noticed that the notice says: Upon receipt of all required

record checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your

local USCIS field office.

Once you received your NOA can you please advise if you have the

same message? Thank you.
