Here is a question for christen and FlipgalRN, once again congratulations on your and/or your husband's interview...

Do they skim through each and every section of the N400 with you on the day of the interview or just ask you important question based on what you wrote on the N400 such as how long you been outside of the United States (if any) and if it was business or pleasure etc. The reason I asked this is because I misplaced my passport while I was relocating stuff around.. I do remember the exact month and year of the trips taken and how long each trip was BUT not the specific date that I've recorded.

You can always explain that to the IO. During the interview they pretty much go through every single question you answer on the N-400 during the interview. My IO stated it was to make sure everything was accurate. I do have a feeling they do a bit of research on you before hand because the IO interviewing my husband mentioned things that were not disclosed in the N-400 (Traffic violations in a specific county etc.) So as long as you're up front with them about losing the passport/not having the exact dates you should be okay.

I think there is an issue with this format. First you get inline for the interview and then you get the Interview letter. Am I correct ?

In the 100 Questions, there's no question about the Ocean? So IO just ask random question even if it's not in the study guide post by USCIS site or booklet gave during the finger print? What if they asked who shot Abraham Lincoln or John F Kennedy? She wouldn't know cuz just lived here 3yrs and never studied American history..

I just wanted to share my interview experience with everyone. So my appointment was at 10:00 but they were running late so I wasn't seen until 10:30. At the time of checking in they gave me a package for applying for my passport and said that I could bring it with me to my oath ceremony to apply that day. The IO started with swearing me in and proceeded to go over all my info to make sure it was correct. She had me sign my pictures that I submitted and asked about my work as an RN. She also asked about any memberships that I belonged to and I said I didn't belong to any but she reminded me that I am part of the California Board of Nursing..oops! headbonk.gifother than that everything went smoothly.

As for my Civic questions the ones that were asked were:

What ocean is on the west coast?

What is the rule of law?

Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

What is the minimum age to vote?

Who was the first president?

What the name of the national anthem?

I was told to write "We have 100 US senators." and to read out loud "Why do some people want to be American citizens?" (or something like that) So with all that being done she said congratulations and that I passed my interview. She also mentioned that in a couple of weeks I should be receiving a notice for my Oath ceremony. As for my husband's interview he was asked about his driving tickets and luckily we had the records from the court of his tickets being paid for and his record from the DMV. They told him they would have to review the records and send him the decision but said there shouldn't be a problem with him being approved. Hoping if all goes well we should be citizens by the end of April. smile.gif

There are 2 ocean questions in the 100 questions - which ocean on the west coast and which on the east coast. Every question they ask should come right out of the 100 questions.

There are 2 ocean questions in the 100 questions - which ocean on the west coast and which on the east coast. Every question they ask should come right out of the 100 questions.

Correct, the ocean questions ARE in the book... Under the geography section... Number 89 and 90. (And Boothe shot Lincoln )... If you study all the 100 questions you will be just fine!

There are ocean questions on the test. Make sure you are studying from the most recent set of questions because after 2008 the naturalization test questions changed.

he called again last week ,they asked him some papers and he send them ,i hope this week he will have something knowing that he filled on January and we are in March not even fingerprints been done i am afraid its gonna take him more than 6month

they told him you arr in process ,and wait nothing else .

I received an email and text today that said I was placed in the Oath scheduling que. Will update once I get the letter. blush.gifStill waiting on the decision on the Hubby's case. Hopefully it get processed soon!

There are ocean questions on the test. Make sure you are studying from the most recent set of questions because after 2008 the naturalization test questions changed.
