It is actually against the law in Texas for anyone, including concealed carry license holders, to be in possession of a weapon while intoxicated (or) to be in possession of a weapon in a bar or anywhere else where liquor sales => 49% of gross revenue.

I believe that all of the states have some form of this law including Alaska where the firearms laws are a lot less stringent and where you can pack a concealed weapon with no license

I think the OP prefers federal to state laws. That's the liberal way.

I would +1 you but it's against the lib/RWN rules. Open carry is for intimidation and provocation.

Open carry is idiotic. Concealed carry is the only way to protect the general population by the participation of very few people.

The more people who are permitted to carry (whether they do or not) the lower the crime rate. In Vermont, 100% of people CAN carry loaded, concealed firearms. Not ALL do. It is wonderfully safe here. Perhaps, Marvin, you could explain how good it would feel if you could go to St. Louis and walk anywhere you want, anytime you want without any fear for your family, children and yourself. It really is a nice feeling of freedom.
