I thought the question was why do demographics play such a large role in crime statistics in places like DC, Chicago etc as opposed to Vermont. . All these people did not kill a drop in the bucket compared to the death toll jsut in Chicago.

I brought that up. I believe that everyone is capable of committing crime, but as I said before racial profiling will never happen to white people, no matter how many they hurt or kill. I think people should be aware that ALL people are suspect.

Agree 100%.. Just for the record when hunting serial killers they do profile white people.. I think profile is a great statistical tool when used correctly. Not some rouge cop out jacking up young black kids for sport however.

I was kidding about how I felt about the French .. Mostly. The majority of my father's family lived in Quebec. Depending on where you went, people ranged from either the nicest people on the planet to the rudest. And most of them can't drive. But it's a beautiful province.

Did you ever get the "I don't speak English" in perfect English when you went up to someone and asked them something in English? I seemed to get a pass in some of those situations since I was from the U.S., but then I said Texas, and I might as well have been from Ontario.

Yup. There are certain areas where, if you don't fluently speak French, they'll pretend they don't speak English. To prove some kind of point. I've never understood it, and it's irritating as all hell.

I got pulled over for no seatbelt in downtown Montreal when I was up there looking for an apartment. The cop came up to the car and started saying something in French. I said something to him in English, and the cop screamed at me "If I want you to speak English, I'll ask you English!!" Guess the moron didn't notice the Texas plates, or maybe he did and was just being an a$$.
