I have no idea if there are more guns in, for example, Florida or Vermont. I do not, and never have, made that claim. I do no tcare. The crime rate is lower in Vermont than Florida, I can show you that if you question it. A higher percentage of Vermonters are ALLOWED to carry concealed guns legally than Floridians. I can show you but you do not question that either.

I have no idea if there more people allowed to carry concealed firearms legally in Yemen than Finland. Show me. I question it. I don't believe anything you are saying, so just link to the data which shows firearms laws for Yemen, Somalia, Finland, Pakistan. You keep adding countries to your claims and have yet to do anything but spout off about nothing. Oh, and assign me a debate position I did not claim.

Show me.

The problem is the obvious flaw in logic attributing a low crime rate in Vermont to guns, to percentage of citizens allowed to 'conceal carry', etc. Many factors are in play. It is a complex issue and it does not well serve the discussion to over-simplify. We all do, myself included, but we all need to admit that there is not a 'one-size-fits-all' answer!

Eskimos? I thought your area was Athabascan.

Athabascan is interior and south central (where I normally live), but I live in Dillingham for the past four years and it's all Yupik Eskimo in these parts. Further south from here is Aleut territory.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

And basically I agree with you that guns DO NOT CAUSE CRIME and GUN LAWS CANNOT BE EFFECTIVE because GUNS DON'T CAUSE Crime.

We agree.

The eproblem, James, is that the facists that want to take away our rights can think of every reason EXCEPT guns, that Vermont has a low crime rate, meaning of course...GUNS DO NOT CAUSE CRIME.

Low population? Right, so that means California has the HIGHEST crime rate and Wyoming the lowest. Right? No. Dammit. Population Density? So Alaska has the lowest crime rate? No again. Dammit. Wealth, so then New York has the lowest crime rate? No. Dammit. Magic Unicorns? Maybe. We have lots of those in Vermont, maybe more than any other state.

But then their answer to increased crime/school shootings/or just general malaise in society is to oppress our rights to own firearms. They do it EVERY time. As often as I say Vermont allows anyone to carry guns and Vermont has low crime, the facists will say "GUNS ARE NOT THE REASON"

OK, so what IS the reason and how is it addressed by a GUN LAW? No answer. EVER. No teven by you. Just that "it is complicated" Seriously James. It is too complicated ...so BAN GUNS! UGLY GUNS.

As I have said, this is a ridiculous argument with facists that want to step on rights, deny choice to Americans, and they are not going to change their tune, even when they change their tune. The circle always comes back to denying choice and stripping human rights.

Fortunmately the NRA has worked for many decades to prevent such abberant mentalities from having any affect on our rights. They can flip and flop, telling us guns are the problem/guns are not the problem but take them away just in case or whatever they say today. Makes no difference.

We have pushed back the oppression, have two solid SCOTUS decisions on our side and have made Gun Control one of the "third rails" of Federal Politics.

Game over.

You just can't connect the dots, can you? The decay of the black family in this country is what made them sick and drove them to make a statement. Don't you see? What's wrong with you? I'm starting to think you're sick.

She's never posted a picture of herself here. How do we know she isn't black? :o

There are no black people in Canada, are there?

They're all from Haiti or French speaking West Africa. At least the black people in Montreal. But Quebec isn't really part of Canada.
