Anybody else notice that chart looks like a day at the gun range?

Well, if you step back and look at it, you will see a trend line. Not one that gun nuts like to look at let alone acknowledge but one that shows the truth about what gun proliferation does - it increases gun deaths. As I said, facts sometimes suck but they're still the facts.

Source? Or is that a power point you came up with in between your SPA meetings?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I know facts are to you as Sun to a vampire

In a 3 year period in Alaska 611 Violent deaths. 69% were suicide. 19% homicide. The rate is 21 per 100,000

The OP was rate. Take out the suicide and Alaska has a gun crime rate way lower than the national average

Darn the Pesky facts that keep slapping the anti-gun nuts upside the head.. You had another Epic Fail..

Mash here

That was brought up and addressed already. I was saying that gun proliferation increases gun deaths. Not gun crime but gun deaths. Seeing that suicide victims are precisely as dead as homicide victims, the point you raise is moot. Why do you insist on refuting points that I did not make?

And then there's this - the higher the gun ownership rates, the higher the firearm deaths.

Facts suck! We should ban them, eh?

Whats that chart like minus suicide (probably why AK is at the top)

Why does that matter? Is a suicide victim somehow less dead?

Those suicides are almost all entirely natives living out in remote villages. They sniff gas, get depressed and blow their brains out. If it wasn't from a gun they would do it with a noose or whatever else was handy atm.

You have any idea why they might be depressed?

No jobs, they live in the middle of nowhere with some living in villages that are as small as 100 people or less. They are caught between two cultures, throw in the lack of daylight and extreme temps in the winter along with the gas sniffing and this is what you get.

Sitting around getting drunk every day waiting for your next government check sounds pretty depressing to me.

Actually I shouldn't knock that. That's pretty much my retirement plan, except I'll be doing it in a shack near the border with Cambodia.
