2. You want someone else to take charge to deal with the issue.

3. You don't want it to cost you.

I have no problem with what you say except you left out drug and alcohol abuse screening as well as mental health screening and failed to apply this screening to all the other constitutional rights.

Include the right to vote and right to privacy and right to raise your children as you wish and the right to equal protection under the law. Register them, publish their names, have them send letters to their neighbors and good god stop hiding them in the general population.

Sound good? I'm ready to sign up. As a bonus add participation in public benefit programs too.

Apply your logic to ALL constitutional rights and you have a winner. Let's do it. Mental health screening to vote. Mental health screen to run for office. Mental health screen to own a gun. Mental health screen to enjoy the right to privacy. Mental health screen to enjoy equal protection under the law. A different set of rules and a different set of rights for those who cannot pass a mental health screen and that includes substance abuse.

I like it. Include a logic test, a short one, and no liberal will ever again be able to either run for or be elected to public office and we can get on with things.

1) Substance abuse would be included in mental health screening.

2) The other "rights" you mentioned, don't kill people, unless you are talking about the loony religious types that want to deny lifesaving care to their children, or other folks under their care, or women in general. Of course, if any of those would like to own a firearm, the answer would obviously be, "Hell no!"

It would be way, way more humorous if the shooters and murderers whose actions are being addressed were directly affiliated with or directly associated with the NRA.

Otherwise it's just as humorous as removing your roof because rain washed out a dam awhile back a few states over
