So can we argue the case that since most mass shootings are white males, the less white males that are born, the less we have to worry about grade schools being leveled?

can we make the same ridiculous association with inner city blacks killing each other & black abortion being a positive?

Yeah, I think you misunderstood my post. I wasn't talking about abortion impacting crime rates. I was saying how silly the argument is that "banning abortions will stop abortions from happening but banning guns won't have any impact at all!"

People will still be murdered whether guns are illegal or not. Abortions will still occur whether they are legally obtained or not. Thinking one will work and the other won't doesn't make sense.

Just giving an alternative perspective regarding the whole crime rate debate . One argument for why US crime rates have been falling for the last 30 years is that abortion has been legal. I understood your post and simply wanted to add another dimension to the issues at hand.

Normal enough to buy a gun today, next week, next month, next year, who knows? How do we as a people decide when it is time to take away the sharp objects in your vicinity?

Not really. When having conversations about automobiles - whether the big 3 or others - death is not something that usually comes up. That might have something to with the fact that cars are not made for single, specific purpose to kill.

That depends on the automobile of course - and yes the big 3 are often related to death. There is even a song about it.

Normal enough to buy a gun today, next week, next month, next year, who knows? How do we as a people decide when it is time to take away the sharp objects in your vicinity?

Perhaps that annual license fee for every firearm you own should be set at a level sufficient to cover all the mental health screening and administrative bookkeeping costs. If you don't want to pay the fee, turn in the firearm. Turn in the firearm anyways, as part of the licensing process, and if we decide you are worthy, you get back whatever firearms we decide are safe for you to possess.

Males, sure. White? Not so sure as a mass shooting is defined as 4 people so it covers a broader amount of crime than you think.
