Hello! We filled in our I-130 last night. But, I also just want to clarify.

My husband is military, will be PCS-ing back into the US. But, he has no orders yet; he just knows it will be either of two states im the US. Since it will be happening soon (Nov 2013), we want my immigration paperwork done before then.

So, what do we put on the address where we are supposed to live? His family are all military members and are also outside the US. He doesn't have relatives who are living im the two states where he will PCS in. We actually plan on buying a house as soon as we know which state we will be in.

Is it okay to put "address pending military orders" for now? I read that we should actually call the military helpline as soon as we get his orders. If not, what is the best way to answer it?

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi there,

I'd put someone that has a permanent address in the USA - such as his parents.

Way fast forward to some of the last forms and they will ask you to confirm the address you will want your greencard etc. sent to. As long as you always update your residential address (where you currently live) to the USCIS/NVC later then you will be fine.

Good luck!

None in his family has a permanent US address that isn't a PO Box. I married into a military family :)

Eventually, we will have a permanent address... when we know for sure where he has to go next. We filled in our PO Box address for the first two blanks on the I-130 form for mailing address. We also put our current physical address in Japan when it was asked where we last lived together. But for the future address, I was wondering whether putting "address pending military orders" will be okay.

We put "TBD" for street address.

Hope that works! Crossing my fingers :)
