I am very surprised myself as it has only been 29 days since we submitted our paperwork. On one side I am very happy but on the other I am thinking maybe there is something wrong with our case and they need to discuss it as soon as possible???? I would not know what it is but yea it is just happening so fast! Any updates for you yet?

I frankly don't think this is indication that anything is wrong. Sometimes there is a smaller number of filers so they go through them as quickly as them can.

We have not heard yet and the case is still in a queue for interview. I believe you completed your biometrics earlier so hopefully we will receive an interview email within the next week or two :).

I will keep you posted anyway.

Are you guys going on your own or with an attorney?

Yes my actual biometrics appointment was scheduled for today so I do believe that it has something to do with my early walk in.

We are going on our own. We do not have anything to hide and are very confident so i do not feel like we need to have an attorney present. I kinda feel like that looks a little suspicious. Are you guys planning on taking one with you?

Defo keep us updated. I am now wondering if my EAD/AP will be approved maybe before the interview. I am happy all this will be over (good or bad) in 4 weeks but another 4 weeks grounded at the house with no license and no job... I will go insane haha

Haha that is true. They say that EAD typicall takes up to 60 days, but some people get approved within one week. So another mystery timeline from the department.

Hubby's adjustment is a little tricky so we have an attorney. At the time of my own AOS i did it all by myself because it was rather straight forward. This time it is a little different and we don't want to take any chances. :). Also, there is nothing to hide in our case but we needed someone familiar with a situation like ours to guide us through the process. :)

So we'll definitely keep you posted and you do the same. Your interview will go super well and you may get you GC in maybe less than 6 weeks :) yay!

Oh ok, yes i understand that. In that case it is prolly better to have somebody around. Just hope you guys found yourself a good one who knows what he or she is talking about!

Thanks a lot, it would be beyond awesome if that was the case and we could live a normal life again in like 4 - 6 weeks. I hope all goes well for you, too. I am sure you will have the appointment soon, since you have completed your biometrics and the 485 is already in testing and interview stage ... maybe even next week!

Well, we completed the biometrics yesterday. There were only about four other people waiting there, probably because it was towards the end of the day. The only issue was the person who assisted my wife had a hard time getting fingerprints off of her, probably because she has really small hands. In the end though, after mashing her fingers repeatedly she was finally able to get the prints. All in all we were only there 20-25 minutes.

F-1 ---> AOS

01-05-2013 - Arrived at Chicago Lockbox at 11:27 am but no authorized recipient available. Notice left.

01-08-2013 - Received Acceptance texts and emails from USCIS at 10:46 pm

01-09-2013 - Checks cashed

Great! Now onto the hopefully short wait to hear back about the interview or EAD.

The only message that will come up, this early, is that your 'stuff was received'.

And it will say that for weeks.

I think it says on one of your '3 letters/NOA's' , that you should wait a certain amount of time, then something will be on the USCIS site. But like I said, the message just says, what your letters say. They got your 'stuff' on such & such a day...
