Was it Boehner who stuck $30 billion of pork on that bill? Boehner did the right thing imo. He said he wanted to cut the fat and that's exactly what he's doing. Unless your a fan of blowing US tax payer dollars on pure #######, then Boehner did the right thing.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The good news is that we won't have to spend a lot of time thinking about what to do with the extra revenue brought in this year from the Bush tax cuts expiring. So much for "Don't spend it all in one place"!

Bingo!

Then vote it down. Or better yet, amend the bill to erase the alleged pork in there and then dare the Senate to deny essential relief to NY and NJ to protect pork to Alaskan fisheries (yep, that's part of the pork in the bill - you know Alaska is always sucking that teat). But to simply stall the whole thing and leave NY and NJ hanging is weak and wrong.

I could care less about that fisheries money. It's small potatoes compared to what was tacked onto that bill. And kudos to Boehner for letting them sweat it out. If New Yorkers and Jerseyites had any 'ol fashion American gumption they would be getting it done on their own instead of waiting to suck on the Federal teat.

This story is going live and people are starting to ask questions about why that pork was tacked onto that bill in the first place.

It's always small potatoes when Alaska is sucking that teat, isn't it? But let me ask you, what did Boehner actually accomplish? The bill, pork and all, is now coming up for a vote. And it will pass. Boehner committed to getting it done and FAILED. Yet again. Boehner didn't accomplish a thing aside from demonstrating once more how ineffective and incompetent a House Speaker he really is.

This why you are you, and I am who I am. Think about it. This story is going live, including blogs, FB, and mainstream media. Now what happens to the tools who vote yes on this bill when Joe Citizen knows what it's really all about? Nothing like a Congressman and/or Senator cutting his or her's own throat in order to tow the party line.

No Senator or Congressman is going to get voted out of office for supporting this bill. You can take that to the bank. This bill will pass once it comes up for a vote because leaving American citizens in NY and NJ high and dry over a couple billion dollars is what will get public officials into hot water. That is what the publicity has actually done - force Boehner to schedule a vote on the bill. A vote for this bill is NOT political suicide.

Boehner saved the US tax payers $30 billion with that move. Do you have something against saving $30 billion in US tax dollars?

No, he did not. The House will vote for $9 billion of that package on Friday and for the remaining $51 billion on January 15. Both measures will pass and all Boehner will have accomplished is looking weak and inconsequential. Which is an accurate reflection of himself.
