Also forgot to say one of the girls at our Starbucks goes to college full time and gets help with her tuition from Starbucks. They hire a lot of people so it's not like there's just one opening. So many work part time to fit their schedules that each store has a lot of workers to cover 4 am to 10 pm seven days a week. You should go to your closest one and introduce yourself to the manager. The store managers tend to work mornings, with shift managers the other times. I bet the accent is a plus.

Good luck! I recently got a job at Pizza Hut. Ive been a stay at home mum for quite a while too. My daughters 22 months now. I have had a couple of jobs but none for very long or to get references from and no American jobs yet!

I did the paper work on Thursday and i got "When would you like to start and what hours shall we do?" I nearly fell over! All of my UK jobs have been sceptical to hire parents (due to flexibility issues) and then not given options on hours. I will be doing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 6pm until 9pm next week (so far). The only reason i want to go to work is for experience, health insurance (they offer it there but its not great) and to get out of the house away from parenting duties to save my sanity! So a few hours a week around my husbands job is perfect for me.

So i would definitely recommend those sorts of places to get your foot in the door, gain references and experience and build up your confidence before moving on to bigger and better things.

05-08-2014: Sent I-751 petition to VSC

05-13-2014: NOA1 (was not postmarked until 5/22/14 and received on 5/24/14)
06-18-2014: Biometrics in St. Albans, VT

11-21-2014: RFE. Received on 11/24/14.

01-22-2015: Interview notice mailed out. Received 1/26/15

02-12-2015: Interview in St Albans, VT - Approved during interview!

How is it going? Did you apply online r in person? I've applied to about 50 jobs online and in person, not one call back.

Congrats, I'm glad you're happy there. It's good to have a little independence when you're a momma. Well some good news, I got to go and do a background check/dru test at Walgreens tomorrow and accept the offer. I'm so happy and relieved, wish me luck.

In the meantime, try Amazon Mechanical Turk. It pays peanuts, but there are people who can make 200+ dollars a month, working less than an hour a day. It takes times to build enough points to access the better paying jobs though.

If you don't know about Craigslist, employers place local jobs there and the lists update every 5 minutes or so.

What you say is true but its true of many websites that advertise jobs. Personally, I've picked up local employment from this website without any problems.

In general, we have to be careful with any situation that requires you to give personal details. But like I said, I've used Craigslist, wisely, with no problems to-date.
