Those would be California north coast types. SoCal and Cental Valley would all be treeless wastelands without all the water they steal from us tree huggers.

Yep. They sure didn't pay for the water. Of course, Edmund G. Brown didn't pay to dig the ditch either, or the highway he build along side it. He borrowed all that money fifty years ago, and we are finally getting it all paid off.

Los Angeles sucks water away from other counties in the state, and the Central Valley gets most of its water from northern California. Water is big politics and high crime in this state. We used to divert water from the Eel River to feed the Russian River in Sonoma County, and now Marin County is pumping from the Russian River to feed their reservoirs. It gets hard to keep track of who is stealing from whom sometimes.
