Democrats in another midnight session, passed the Obama tax package, that maintained the tax rates for 2010, and Obama signed the bill. Same thing happened here, except this time the rates were increased for 75% of Americans.

Are you trying to convince yourself that the Bush tax cuts were extended in 2010?

I have realized with those two it is a losing battle. If in their convoluted liberal logic world we just had a huge tax cut, just let it be. I don't care how many main stream articles and sources you post to the contrary, All of us that can read and think know better. I think they just want attention

As another poster said, I have decided it's trolling, because no one is that slow on purpose.

And your response isn't trolling? They are technically correct. Tax rates did increase at the stroke of the new year and last night's vote cut them.

Of course, The Patriot is also correct in speaking to the real-world effects as felt by most people.

Both sides are actually correct here... for once.

You're not slow either, so I know you get that. I have to assume, therefore, that you are also trolling.

see... No matter what you say.. You could rub his nose in the bill Obama signed and show him the CBS Headline which read

Obama Signs Bill To Extend Bush Tax Cuts

and he will still deny it.. Give up

To tout that we just got a huge Tax cut is absurd. Have a nice day : No I am not trolling. How much did you pay in those new taxes ?

So the Bush tax cuts were not extended in 2010 ?

bush didn't extend the tax cuts in 2010. some other person (not bush) signed the bill.

shouldn't the 2010 signed tax cuts now belong to the person currently residing in office?

Yes they should be the Obama Tax cuts, but in the recent Campaign, the liberals that hated them still howled and screamed about the Bush Tax cuts. Part of Obama rhetoric. Now they like them. Go figure.

I don't care what you want to call them, as long as the words "tax cuts" are in there, that's all I care about.

That is correct. And you can thank the overwhelming support of Republicans in the House and Senate for the 2010 bill for that. If they had gotten their way, your tax bill would go up quite a bit more than it now will because Democrats and a handful of Republicans decided to act last night and cut your taxes.

I thought you wanted them to expire now you are peeing on yourself like a new puppy that they remained in palce. what gives.

He could have refused to sign an extension into law and let the Bush tax expire - for everyone. Instead, he embarked on his class warfare campaign against the rich, insisting that the tax cuts should expire only for the 1%.

Big Dog --I don't disagree at all. The Bush tax cuts should have been allowed to expire. Then the parties could have sat down and talked about what tax relief - if any - Congress might pass to help spur the economy. It would then have been a debate over tax cuts where each side could have made their case as to what the scope should be. Instead this was allowed to become a debate over tax hikes which was doomed from the very beginning.

with the current "blame game" in full swing, being honest in regards to the responsible owner for the 2010 "tax cut" bill would be a nice thing to see.

there again deceit seems to be the new norm ...

I did want them to expire. No need to go on old post searches for that. I have said time and again - as recently as last night - that everyone will need to chip in if we are going to balance the budget. Cuts alone won't do it. Tax hikes on the rich won't do the trick either. Broad based tax reform (with increased revenues) and spending cuts are required to bring the fiscal house in order.

Now, the reason why I talk about the huge tax cut package that passed the House with minimal Republican support and without any Tea Party support yesterday is that I find it odd that Republicans in general and tea Party freaks in particular are all of a sudden so vehemently opposed to tax cuts. That's all.
