Wow, I don't know where to begin with this. I was stationed in Italy as well. I married my wife 2 months after getting out of the Army so we had to process our I-130 the "civilian" route. If your husband really is in the Army and active duty you two shouldn't be having problems with bills and rent considering the Military pays for all of this seperately from his base pay. Secondly, how can someone sign a letter to a Politician "Dude". Good luck getting any actual help from their office. Third, all of this should be irrelevant considering the fact that every Military base has it's own legal office where your husband should have went to start and file your application. Going this route, since he is legally residing in Italy the petition you filed wouldn't even need to go to Chicago and then VSC and would have been entirely processed at the U.S. Consulate in Italy. I knew multiple Soldiers who went this route and their entire petition process from date of filing to recieving the green card took 3-4 months. If your husband never tried this route you should yell at him, alternatively if he did try and his Duty Station offered no assistance this should be the issue you are contacting a Senator about.

Anyways: Mike and Kristi here, we recieved our NOA1 on July 18th and are still waiting like everyone else here. We called VSC at our 5 month mark only to recieve the same run around answers everyone else is getting. I tried to even just ask the lady on the telephone what month they were currently processing at the time and I think I only confused her even more. She referred me to the USCIS site that wasn't even updated until yesterday, and at the time was 2 months old. She couldn't even give me a rough date and gave me the same information I could have recieved without even calling. VSC's work ethic and or business practices seriously scare me with how they have handled this backlog of petitions. And I always thought VSC would be 10x faster then those at Texas and California. Guess I was wrong.

Hi, I'm sorry maybe my post wasn't clear enough. Of course we didn't write "dude" in the letter and of course the senator didn't sign his letter with "dude". I was using stupid words to make my post "lighter" because I am already enough frustrated and angry and writing in a serious tone makes me even more upset.

I specified that I didn't have the email that my husband wrote to the senator and I wrote the whole general meaning OF COURSE he wrote it better than you imagined. Also in the response letter from the senator, there were phone numbers, addresses and such that I didn't know if I could write on a website that's why the name became "Dude" and the numbers and addresses were omitted.

Also I don't know where you got the impression that my husband is stationed in Italy. He's currently in the States and I am in Italy. That being said he has a "normal" pay which he uses to pay the apartment, bills, car, insurance and all the things that any of us pays PLUS me living abroad. It's a looong story, but for family reasons I had to come back to Italy and we had to apply for a I 130. Here I have no job anymore (even though I am looking for one) and even though I am with my family I have to help with some bills and rent and car. Somehow people gets the impression that we're rich because of my husband job. We're not rich and certainly not poor BUT at the moment we're very close to being broke because of me being abroad.

He's not deployed or going to be deployed soon so we had to go through the civilian route or at least that what we were told to do and that's what we're doing. Even though this was the wrong route it is too late to change it now.

Good luck to you

Giovanna

I know it's hard. Keep in mind for a while they were receiving 11000 I-130 apps in May and 9000 apps in June. They are effectively completing about 5700 apps per month at this time. I hope they speed up but the number indicate that this is going to be the pace for another few months assuming everything is kept the same. I wish they would allocate some resources to I-130 apps received in May and June.

I'm curious where you get these numbers...

Someone stated when they called that they were told they are up to June 1, so its safe to assume now that the normal

Has anyone called lately to see what the actual date is they are working on? I know it's only beena week or two since we found out they were working on June 1. Just wondering. Can't stand the silence I guess.

I've given up on the date they are working on, it doesn't seem to mean much. I have gotten my senators office involved and even that hasn't helped much. All they can repeat to the senators office is that they are overloaded with work, but I see some people with dates after mine.

I'm fed up with the process , I received a letter in November saying they have 90days, after that I'm making an infopass appointment .

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the patience has left.

It's very comforting to see that an approval gives so much hope to the VSC filer family that's still waiting. 7 month + wait is definitely not easy and VSC has certainly not made it a walk in the park. Keep the faith everyone, my NOA1 was June 4th and I got approved 220 days later. I'm sure next week we'll be hearing of a lot of approvals :) Don't give up!

I just don't understand the reasoning that I"m May 4th and someone from June gets approved first? How do they explain that? Since they claim they haven't touched my file yet? Can't be the background is taking longer as an excuse!
