No, That wrong! than what are the measures to say how long is tooo long?! they set up the measures: it's called priority date. Therefore, if your PD is up, you petition needed to be addressed. For your situation, I believe you are waaay overdue and you need to take some serious action ...

Senators office is on it....although as she said , its still within normal processing time . That they will try to push it in ahead of others???? Meaning that there are plenty still waiting behind me also. I don't tend to believe anything about that date they post, meaning they will get to it , when they get to it.

it was october 30th. PD was May 21st

I don't understand how it took them a month to process 6 days worth of application flow?

I know it's hard. Keep in mind for a while they were receiving 11000 I-130 apps in May and 9000 apps in June. They are effectively completing about 5700 apps per month at this time. I hope they speed up but the number indicate that this is going to be the pace for another few months assuming everything is kept the same. I wish they would allocate some resources to I-130 apps received in May and June.

I start to believe that there must be a huge amount of applications that belong to April/May/June/July 2012 at VSC compared to other months!

And if we also add the fact of recent holiday season...then we have only 6 days ahead of previous date posted. :(

You can believe i'm very frustrated with having an NOA1 dated May 4th and seeing the date of May 28th posted on the website. I have contact with my senators office and she's doing all she can to get my application processed soon. I have to believe it when I'm told there are still MANY of us from May that are still in line.

I recieved a very nice email and will share it with you from my senators office:

I just spoke with the Vermont Service Center. My liaison is going to try to get your case pulled

from the shelf and to an officer. They usually don't do this until the case is 30 days past the

processing date, but I convinced her to do a good deed and move it a few weeks early.

I will check again mid-January.

Yes it sounds promising , just seems like they all have all they can do at the moment. I just wish they would have sent out the earlier dates to field offices not the applications from August and after!!

Good luck to you also, we're all in the same boat :)

Just checked the little drop down menus on the USCIS website on the page where you check on your case status - between yesterday and today the processing times for VSC went from 5.4 months to 6.2 months, so now we all need to wait nearly an extra month before we can even call to raise a fuss. This blows something major!

WHAT??????!!!! Not again!!!!! VSC really does know how to frustrate!!!! :ranting::ranting: 6.2 months is 188 days. OK.

What makes me really upset though is this: So VSC is "loaded" with petitions so now they're "backlogged". OK,makes sense. So why didn't they "share" the burden with NBC & other field offices by transferring May/June/July petitions?????? Why make us wait so long & yet decide to transfer those who filed after us? So NOT fair. At all. Arggghhhhh!!!!!!!! :protest::protest:

PS: Yes,I'm angry with how this system works. But aren't I justified to be???

I'm min the list. We've been waiting for almost 7 months now and still no good news. We called and inquired and called again and asked more. They haven't processed our petition yet. Back when we were still under the 5 months wait, we contacted a senator. He told us he couldn't do much because we were under the 5 months. We contacted him again around December (6 months), my husband wrote him a letter or email I don't remember saying more or less "I'm in the army and both me and my wife have had our background checked already less than a year ago. We'd like to know why it is taking so long. Can you do anything to help us? This is getting very very hard for us and we even have problem paying bills because of the double rent/bills/expenses which means it could make me get in trouble with my work. Thanks and hurry up dude". He was very kind and sent a letter. I don't know when we'll hear good news. I am so frustrated and feel so bad. All the sadness is gone, all the anger is gone... the only thing left is hysteria

I tried to upload an image but I guess I am horrible at this stuff, I'll write it down

"Dean Mr.

Thanks you for your recent inquiry to my office. I have been informed by the nature of your concerns and I will do my best to assist you.

Tran Nguyen, a Senate Aide in my Chicago office, assist me in matters as these and will contact the Vermont Service Center to make an inquiry. I trust that this matter will receive prompt and complete consideration.

You will be contacted as soon as a response has been received. We ask that you allow at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) days for a response. However, if you have additional information or concerns relative to this matter, please feel free to contact my office.

Very truly yours

Dude"

Wow, I don't know where to begin with this. I was stationed in Italy as well. I married my wife 2 months after getting out of the Army so we had to process our I-130 the "civilian" route. If your husband really is in the Army and active duty you two shouldn't be having problems with bills and rent considering the Military pays for all of this seperately from his base pay. Secondly, how can someone sign a letter to a Politician "Dude". Good luck getting any actual help from their office. Third, all of this should be irrelevant considering the fact that every Military base has it's own legal office where your husband should have went to start and file your application. Going this route, since he is legally residing in Italy the petition you filed wouldn't even need to go to Chicago and then VSC and would have been entirely processed at the U.S. Consulate in Italy. I knew multiple Soldiers who went this route and their entire petition process from date of filing to recieving the green card took 3-4 months. If your husband never tried this route you should yell at him, alternatively if he did try and his Duty Station offered no assistance this should be the issue you are contacting a Senator about.

Anyways: Mike and Kristi here, we recieved our NOA1 on July 18th and are still waiting like everyone else here. We called VSC at our 5 month mark only to recieve the same run around answers everyone else is getting. I tried to even just ask the lady on the telephone what month they were currently processing at the time and I think I only confused her even more. She referred me to the USCIS site that wasn't even updated until yesterday, and at the time was 2 months old. She couldn't even give me a rough date and gave me the same information I could have recieved without even calling. VSC's work ethic and or business practices seriously scare me with how they have handled this backlog of petitions. And I always thought VSC would be 10x faster then those at Texas and California. Guess I was wrong.
