When will I receive my Social Security?

Hi, I just got to the States. I have a problem when I was at the Embassy in Lima they gave a paper telling that they were going to send me my social security card to the house where I am living now, but I don't remember when this will be. Does anyone know when they're gonna send this document?

I you don't see it soon in a couple of weeks you can go visit them. We found the card delay was the computer systems talking to each other, still went in and left our stuff, then the card arrived about a week later.

My husband just entered the US in August 2012. We did not receive a social security card in the mailand my husband received no instructions as such when he left his interview in Lima. We received the green card in the mail about a month after he arrived We then had to wait about three weeks after receiving the green card (for the information to transfer over) to go to the Social Security office in person and apply for the social security card. That then came in the mail a month later.
