No EAD after almost 6 months

We just called our congressman's office. They said they will call the immigration but they also said they are among worst gov. agencies to deal with.

J-1 (with 212e requirement), Croatian

A lil' update... Finally, for the first time after 6/24/2006 my EAD was touched... I hope I get that card soon.

Glorya, I know it stinks, but this is what they're going to tell you--you had an initial evidence RFE (on the I-485). That suspends processing for the related-benefit applications (EAD & AP).

You returned/they received the RFE on 10/19--about 3 weeks ago?

This is just what I've picked up from reading.. do do some more research.

You can InfoPass & go and ask really nicely if they'll help you out, but by their own rules, I'm not sure there is anything that can be done right now.

Are you keeping an eye on your local I-485 processing times? Maybe your interview will come up shortly!

I talked to several people and they all said RFE wasn't registered on my I-765 which makes sence cuz it was RFE for I-485. Besides that, they took over two months to send RFE in the first place. And how about that??

What Meauxna says, actually makes sense. If you have a RFE everything halts, no way are they going to continue processing the EAD if they have questions on the I-485 - as soon as they process the information from the RFE for the I-485, the EAD will be processed. It is unfortunate that you have had to wait so long. You would have had a smoother ride had it not been for the RFE.

I have to say I'm actually amazed at how fast they can process stuff once they are given a push. I seriously have to wonder how they organize things.
