Hi, I read earlier on the RFE. thread that someone had a request for evidence sent to them because their UK. decree absolute was not signed. Has anybody else had a problem with this, or was it a one off? All we get in the UK. is a single sheet with the court stamp on, surely they would already know this?

I read Nich-Nick's post before I sent my package in and followed the instructions they suggested. I had no problems whatsoever during my AOS.

Just because others received an RFE, doesn't mean you will. A lot of it boils down to how familiar the USCIS officer is with UK decrees. It might just be that it doesn't even get looked at until the interview.

I would just relax and deal with the RFE if it ever comes...

Wow what a great post by Nich-Nick. Hahahaha. Just kidding.

People from the UK get those RFEs so it's not a one-off, but it doesn't happen to everybody. It depends on the experience of the person evaluating the petition. It's not an everyday thing so don't worry about it. Most go through just fine. Save your worries for some other time. You'll be a shriveled up mess if you worry about every minor thing that might happen in this process. Not a thing you can change at this point, so forget it. Happy New Year. Smile, it's your wedding year...yes?

My husband and I submitted our I130 application last June and on December 20th the status was updated to say RFE. We had to wait until January 10th to find out the reason for the request was that my decree absolute was not signed (UK divorce). Since I had sent the original with the application, I had to go and get a copy from the court it was filed at and scan it to my lawyer who sent it again with a forwarding sheet explaining that there is no signature on a UK decree absolute. On 25th January, the status was updated to Request for Evidence Response Review (at California Service Centre), I'm hoping it will get approved soon!
