The name on the ticket should ALWAYS match the name on the ID you're using to travel (which is a passport in your case).

To re-enter the US you will probably need (apart from a valid GC) your marriage certificate to show that you're the LPR (though your names don't match).

Replace your passport does not matter if still valid until 2016. You can do it in US. Just go to any Phil embassy here in US and present you marriage contract, passport and your NSO Birth Cert, to make sure if ever they need it. I changed mine in Philippines because i married there.

Nope, can't do international travel using the name on your green card, MUST use the name on your passport for purchasing ticket. And like others said simple carry a copy of your marriage certificate.

You say you are in the Phils right now. So how did you travel from the USA to the Phils, what name did you use for purchasing the ticket.?

hello i use to be in that situation, and i had to buy the ticket in both last name, but if you choose not to U MUST use the name on the green card or else they will not let you back into the country....that was my experience....I had to buy a new ticket with the greencard name on it to re enter...immigration only see what on your greencard to be valid not your overseas passport.

To Travel outside the USA and Re-enter you must buy a Ticket in the Name on your Passport as Hank stated. use your GC to re-enter. Hopefully if your married name is on the GC it is the first and last name you were given at birth plus Married last name for example,"Judy Sanchez Davis". Davis being your Married name. that with a copy of your Marriage Certificate, you will have no issues re-entering the USA! Good Luck!

When you return to the US, file for Report of Marriage Contracted Abroad to the nearest Philippine Consulate in your area.

You can refer to this: http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular%20services/conserv-registry.htm#ROM

In that way, you can use your husband's surname in your Philippine passport.

Being she is already in the Phils, why not take a certified copy of the marriage certificate to NSO?

As far as my google search went, Report of Marriage Contracted Abroad has to be filed at the Philippine Consulate with jurisdiction over where the marriage took place.

You can't go directly to NSO without going thru the Philippine Consulate first.

My wife change her passport using her married last name to reflects her green card, when she apply at the consulate and took 8 weeks to get her new passport, the reason is that they will send the application back to the country of origin and to verify everything with the NSO. Also required by the consulate to register our marriage which means copy of marriage certificate, 2x2 picture for me and my wife and notarized everything.

We are going home in 2 weeks using her new passport.

Good luck

Call the airline and ask them whether they will allow you to board your flight if the name on your ticket doesn't match the name on your passport. This is the issue.
