NVC Filers - January 2013

looking at the timelines alot of ppl that got their NOA2 around the same time as mine (few days before or after) have their cases at NVC already, some of them are even paying their fees this is so depressing why isn't mine there yet?! I'm really worried now after looking at these timelines

have you been calling each day to try to get your case number?

If you're in AP, then yes, you're put into it after the interview. Did the DOS say why you were put into AP? Hopefully it doesn't take long regardless...

I was told by a few DOS operators that EVERYBODY get put into AP after the interview until the visa gets issued.

I just called again and was told this is normal and does not mean anything has gone wrong, etc... I guess if you are put into AAP (additional admintrative proccesing) then you may have a long delay?

does this make any sense to you Saylin? thanks!

PS. The DOS says there is no specific reason why we where put into AP except to say that this is normal for everybody.

Are you taking into consideration what service center everyone was at? Vermont seems to get to NVC very quickly....Whereas others, not so much.

Mine came from my local uscis office here in Chicago and it took 17 days to get a case number. My friend's came from Vermont and it took her about 7 days to get a case number.

Thanks that brings me to my next question...our joint sponsor does file jointly with her husband however his income is not needed(she makes more than enough)...can we just use her as a sponsor or does he HAVE to also fill and sign an I-864?

You only need your sponsor's spouse to fill out an I-864a if the spouse's money will be used as well. Sounds like, in your case, it wont be used so only have your sponsor fill out an I-864. I asked this very question to NVC.

As far as forms from the IRS, your best bet is to call the IRS and order your tax transcripts. You can go as far back as 10 years, I believe, and they are free and show up at your mailbox in less than 10 days. These TRANSCRIPTS are all you need. If you don't send in TRANSCRIPTS then you have to send it allllllllllll that other stuff that Saylin posted above.

Well they said dec 12,then dec 20th,& the latest news jan 1st.

I was gonna ask they said they had to reopen my case and it was completed on the 1st...does that mean I started all over with the countdown to see when I could get my appointment?!

well they were different service centers your right, but even the ones that were approved by NBC got there after a week at most! mine was also approved by NBC

I've never heard that before. And I've never heard of "AAP". Here on VJ, it's just AP: additional/administrative processing. The reasons for being put into AP vary: background checks, red flags, additional documents are needed, etc.

Remember, like with NVC operators, don't just rely on ONE operator's answer. You need to call many times and take the majority answer (and even then, it could be wrong).

It might be worth it if you call up the embassy directly and inquire. Or, just keep waiting.

Was received at the NVC Dec 31st. Hoping to blaze through the NVC by the end of the first week in February. Guessing I shouldn't hold my breath though....
