Hi! Just checking in ...Even though I have followed this thread by reading the FAQ and the guides from the first post and some comments of some of you!

I think I will 'officially' join all of you guys in the NVC process on February, since I don't have my case number yet, we got NOA2 on Jan 16th and NVC received our file on Jan 23rd.

Anyway I just wanted to say HELLO to everybody here, and I will definitely turn ON the alerts for the NVC thread of February as well!!

Grats on the recent NOA2! kicking.gif And I've officially welcomed you to the JANUARY thread as that's the current month ;)

Hi! My husband called them yesterday, and yeah, they said to please wait from 10-15 days. :(

He will call again tomorrow or friday, since we think will be the same story, and like you say it takes about 20min on hold. BUT also we wanna confirm the date when they received it, since the first time he called he was told that they received it on Jan 21st, and now they say it was Jan 23rd :bonk: hehe

Good luck!!!

Start calling around a different time. I called around 5pm EST and found that was best for me as it was less than a 5 minute wait. Typically, I got through in under a minute. I've also heard late at night, like 10-11pm EST is also another excellent time to call.

Using the DS 3032 email template, I emailed the NVC my DS 3032 yesterday but today I received an email from NVC with the DS 3032 attached asking me to complete, sign and return it to them... should I do this or wait for my email to be accepted?

There's an exact question about this on post 2 ;)

Got this email today:

"Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On January 30, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

Does this mean that it's been sent/received at NVC or is it getting ready to be sent, or are they just trying to get my hopes up?

lol, I have the same message too! I wonder if our cases were being handled by the same person or something.

Another question! In the phone call we get the case number, can we ask the operator for the IIN and hand over our email addresses (in the same phone call is what I mean I guess?)

Ooooh, that's a great idea,I'm gonna tell my husband to call NVC in the evening ;) I think most of people (including myself) are used to call during the so-called "business hours" (let's say from 8am-5pm) but if NVC is giving us a wide range of hours to call, why not taking advantage of it? ;) THANKS for the great advice!

HI,

I have a question about the joint sponsor, a friend of us is willing to be our joint sponsor. He is recently divorced, but no matter the household size is 2 or 3 (after sponsoring me), his annual income is still over the poverty guideline. My question is his 2012 tax return transcript is probably indicated that the household size is 2 (he was still married at that time), should he attach the divorce paper or some kind of document to prove that he is not single now and if he sponsors me, the household size will be 2?

Thank you!

lol, I have the same message too! I wonder if our cases were being handled by the same person or something.

Another question! In the phone call we get the case number, can we ask the operator for the IIN and hand over our email addresses (in the same phone call is what I mean I guess?)

Yup, you can do it all in the same phone call. Although, be warned, you may have to make more than one call as some operators are picky (for whatever reason) about giving out the IIN. Just be persistent until you get it!

just wanted to let u all know that i just got my interview date assigned... less than one week after my case closed and its not the first two weeks of the month yet... so everything can happen all the time... march 6th it is :D

Yeah, that's why I'm assuming it's pretty quiet after 5pm because people assume they've closed. But they're actually open until midnight, so.... :D

I don't think it's required, but if you want to send a photocopy, go for it. As far as I know, NVC will look at the household size provided on the I-864 form, not what it says on the tax transcripts.

ya, call back tomorrow, ask specifically 'Please send me my AOS FEE BILL via email'.

When it hits yer email inbox, send off that email version of the DS-3032.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I kno right! I got all excited when I saw the email but then I was like um yea that doesn't mean that I'll get my case number any quicker, just means USCIS sent my file to NVC, no indication that NVC will act on that file anytime soon!

Good Luck !

Should we send after AOS has been invoiced or right after we get the case and IIN numbers? I was under the impression it was after receiving case number?
