If you had scant evidence when you submitted the I-130, though -

many folk submit more with the DS-230.

Please review the 6 evidence types in the I-130 instructions - if you have a new ton since submitting the I-130, well -

submitting it with the DS-230 will be the last chance you have, for a Consular Officer to view it before interview day.

we have bank account together in my home country and off course the bank statement for this account is half arabic half french..should i translate it? the same with the contract on the house we own in Morocco?

Ughhhhhhhh we have had our NOA2 since Dec 20th. NVC finally told me today that they have our case file just have not assigned it a case number. Said to call back in 15 to 20 business days. Its been 5 weeks already sheeesh :(

OK, the checklist e-mail just popped up in my inbox. It says, "The NVC has reviewed the financial evidence submitted. However, additional information is

required to complete the financial evidence review. Please provide all requested documents and refer to page two for mailing instructions," then notes that we did not provide proof of our co-sponsor's citizenship. I think this means that our AOS package is all good except for this?

Follow up question: If we send scans of my mother (co-sponsor's) passport as proof of her citizenship, will my husband have to provide the real thing at his interview? I'm thinking no, but if we do have to provide originals then maybe it would be better to scan a certified copy of her birth certificate and then he can "borrow" that for his interview?

Finally, I sorted out what the photograph confusion was all about. Just below the "your I-864 was reviewed but there are missing things" message was this:

The NVC does not collect scanned images of the photographs required for each travelling applicant for

cases processing electronically.

Please be advised that you must provide two identical front-view color photographs with a white

background as required for each visa applicant at the time of the interview.

The photos must have the name of the person in the photo printed on the back along with the case

number associated with the person's photo.

Failure to provide the required photographs at the time of the interview will delay your case and

could cause re-scheduling of your interview or refusal of a visa.

So I think it's just a heads-up from NVC that the first operator I spoke to this morning mis-read. We scanned the photos anyway and submitted them in the IV package, but maybe we didn't have to as long as he brings them to his interview?

It's been 30 days since NOA2 and still no case number. I emailed the approval notice to nvc reasearch a week ago and still no response. NVC is so slow.

It's been 39 days since NOA2 for me and still no case number! I am so glad we also filed for K3 otherwise I would be going crazy right now

Nice! It only took 6 days for your file to get sent from USCIS to NVC, right? That gives me hope as I'm sitting here praying that it doesn't take a month for that b/c that will seriously hold me up!

Saylin I've seen you mention that lately it's taking 3-4 weeks to get to NVC, is this an average? Or do you think NVC is speeding up? When should I start calling to get my case number?

Yes, that's definitely an average, which I've taken from looking at my spreadsheet. I don't think it's speeding up, if anything, it's been slowing down. Just a few months ago, it was only taking a week or two from approval to get a case number assigned.

I would say in your case, wait until next Monday to start calling, and then everyday afterwards.

Do I need to send any proof of relationship beside marriage certificate at this NVC step?

Typically, no, you don't send more proof of relationship at NVC. But those going through harder embassies/consulates (such as Nigeria and China) typically do send extra evidence (in the IV package), since the officer pretty much has the decision made on the case before the interview takes place. By loading up the IV package with evidence, the officer will be able to see this before the interview, and that evidence may just change their mind (if there hadn't been any evidence).

I just called USCIS for the first time in my life. Eh. I am annoyed because the embassy spelled my wife's name wrong at some point. Today I got two notices of action (basically saying the production of my green card has been ordered) and my wife's name is still spelled wrong. I don't know why. She sent in copies of her birth certificate and passport when we started this whole process.

I first talked to one person but he couldn't do nothing to change it, so I got transferred. A woman got my info and said someone will call me back within 48 to 72 hours.

Weird. Hopefully USCIS can help. Although, if it's just a tiny error, it might be pointless to even stress about it, especially since she's just the petitioner.

Tax returns are 1040s. Those are the forms you fill out and send to the IRS. The tax transcripts are basically an overview of your submitted 1040, along with any corrections, if applicable, the IRS may have made.

If you're asking in reference to the AOS package, it's always better to send in tax transcripts. Tax transcripts are typically just a few pages long. With the other way, you'd need to send in the tax returns, along with all schedules, and W2s. Depending on things, this can quickly add up and become an inch thick.

Yup, if that's the only thing listed on the checklist, then the rest of your package is good to go. And no, original proof of joint sponsor's US citizenship won't be required at the interview. Just bring an extra copy with you in case they request it.

And as far as I know, scanned photos are still required. It's still the same thing as the postal IV package, just that everything's scanned. That's the only difference between EP and non-EP. And the agreement you made by signing up for EP is that you bring all original documents to the interview.

Uh, really? That would be the FIRST time I've ever heard of that then. Are you sure you followed the email template exactly? The only reason I've seen people get their emailed DS-3032 denied is because it was too early.

If you have the noa2 I would start getting all of that together while you are waiting I have been waiting 5 weeks now so you might want to use this time to your advantage!

No idea? Why havent you called the NVC! The number is in the first post of this thread, it just takes a small amount of hold time (compared to an ISO at the USCIS) and they can tell you the date it arrived.
