Ok so if my AOS was "accepted" does that mean that my income was okay? Is this where they determine that or are they just saying that they looked over all the forms and everything looked good? I guess what I am trying to understand is that if I needed a co sponsor (which I don't)...would I have been told when I called to see if they got the AOS?...the reason I ask is b/c I have a friend who's husband went to interview and he got the visa but they need a co-sponsor in order to get it so just wondering if the AOS is reviewed at NVC to see if it's sufficient or at the embassy of your SO. whew...okay that was a lot of words...someone please understand what I mean LOL

By accepting the AOS package, it just means it passed NVC's inspection. It still needs to pass the embassy's. So, just because NVC doesn't think you need a co-sponsor, the embassy still might. It depends how strict they are.

Yup, exactly good.gif

USCIS's job is to make sure the US spouse can actually petition. NVC's job is to make sure the petitioner can actually support the spouse and that the beneficiary can actually apply for a visa. Then it's up to the embassy to make sure everything is good to go, so they have the final say.

Well, our slow arses finally got our NVC forms filed. They were delivered today, 1/24/2013.

I know we should probably have interviewed by now as we got our NAO2 on July 26, but we needed to take a bit of time just in case we were approved quickly. Plus we just needed extra time to get things together. Praying things go smooth from here for the VJ crew and us! Its hard not to run over and over in my head about what could have, should have, and might be done!

Its probably a bad time to ask now, but I sent 3 separate manilla envelopes in 1 package, AOS- sponsor, AOS- joint sponsor, and 230+docs in the 3rd.

Is that okay?

Don't feel bad I had NOA2 6/29 approved in 3 months. Been at NVC 7 months. At least we are moving forward. And now sooner rather than later we will be done. YAY.

The most important thing is you have each package with the bar-coded cover page. Otherwise you will delay yourself abit.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

Each package has their own bar code, yay! I was really proud of my final masterpiece collection of documents organized oh so carefully.

And its somewhat comforting to know (for whatever reason) that I am not the only one crawling through NVC stage. It feels wonderful to finally take the next step.

I feel ya on the compilation of a masterpiece. I submitted 900 pages, two Shutterfly photobooks and included again my 219 original petition. Hehe. It took them 9 days to review I thought they would be playin rock-paper-scissors with that 20 lbs of stuff to see who gets that. Hehe

And trust me I know many many folk been at NVC a year or less.

And look at it this way we get to hang out with Cool people here like Saylin the coolest girl around.

Now once you get case complete you come on over to the interview thread. I will post March soon. Looks like February for all countries is closed. Well shall soon be hearing good news.

OMG for real? March... I hadn't even considered it could happen that quick.

And I can't believe you put 900 pages of stuff together!!!! OMG... you shipped a whole friggin box. I'm hoping yours is passed on to the embassy so mine doesn't get buried underneath it!! LOL. My masterpiece is like my daughter's coloring book to your Picasso.

I haven't had the pleasure of making Saylin's acquaintance yet. I have been missing out I guess hiding in MENA.

Hi *waves* Pleased to meet you :)

It should be okay, don't worry. The purpose of the bar-coded cover sheet is (in my opinion) to quickly recognize the case number and seeing if you've paid the bill already. If you have your case number listed elsewhere, they should be able to match it up, no problems. If the cover letter is the first page and has it listed there, should be easy enough for them ;) Don't despair!
