Analogies are not that hard a concept. They do extract bothered reactions when they uncover indefensible positions, however. Works ever time. On everyone.

Alright, I know you're a bit slow on the uptake but try and follow along - read it over twice or more times until you get the concept: Just because man makes some floods does not mean that floods are man made events. By and large, floods are natural events. Floods occurred long before man existed which would be impossible if they were actually man made as you would claim. Lakes are not man made but man can make lakes. Snow is not man made but man can make snow. Diamonds are not man made but man can make diamonds. Floods are not man made but man can make floods. Got it?

But that's not even the point in the context of this discussion. See, whether man induced - such as the scheduled, man made flooding that replaces the natural flooding downstream of the dam that was successfully built to stop natural flooding - or natural flooding, there's one thing that we all know: More water will not reduce a flood and will not reduce any damage the flood causes. That is what's important in the context of this discussion. These are simple concepts that are taught in K-1 today and kids actually grasp them. It's not impossible if you try.

I had it many posts ago. I see you just about have it. You do realize your still not quite there. If man can make floods then some floods are man made. Saying floods are not man made is an absolute. You can't give an absolute then contradict it. Maybe this is why you never under stood why the assault weapons ban was illogical.

However at least we have you admitting floods can be man made, which is a complete reversal from your earlier position. Maybe next we can get you to understand basic concepts like because a weapon looks a certain way makes it no more dangerous than others.

My analogy took a single post. Explaining it to the slower to learn crowd around here took several pages. In fact, I don't think they've grasped it yet. That's not my fault and does not signal any intent on my part to troll this thread. Are you going to make me cover a few more pages to explain that, too?

Nah, I'm not going to bite. Well except the way that some floods are mitigated are by allowing outlets into certain land to protect others. One might use that as an analogy for arming the safe law abiding types to mitigate the crime.
