I also remember you. It's so good to know that you are doing well. I know you are still hurt but time does ease the pain. I guess it never takes it away but it does lessen it a bit.

Got the job yesterday. Thought I would let you all know. First good news in a very long time.

Randomly matched up by a computer as penpals at eleven years old in French Language class (1988)

Letters/Emails/Phonecalls continue for the next 16 years.

Kerri Visits England for a month 25/05/04

We get engaged following a wonderful weekend trip to Brussels as a birthday treat for Kerri.

K1 Petition Received by Nebraska 17/07/04

[10/01/05 Interview in London. Success - K1 Visa Aproved!

28/01/05 Kerri & I get married!!

20/04/05 Mail out AOS & EAD forms 1 day before due!!

07/07/05 EAD Received but returned for incorrect DOB!!

31/08/05 Hurricane Katrina Rolls into New Orleans, we pack up and evacuate to Cordova TNcolor]

25/11/05 Corrected EAD finally received after being mailed to New Orleans the day after Katrina

20/12/05 AOS Approved without interview after transfer to California.

28/04/06 I head back to England for 3 to 4 months whilst my wife completes a training shcool.

07/05/05 Things are looking up!! I get a well paid job. Ive started my driving lessons1

29/05/06 My Wife tells me she is not ready to be married and wants a divorce.

18/06/05 My wife officially starts divorce proceedings.

Good news on the job. Hopefully it will turn your life around somewhat, and you can now focus on the future, and all it has to offer. Times have been tough, and it is often hard to move on from things, but it is good too see you are looking at things more positively..

The timeline... (Frankfurt) for the kids visas

10/22/2007 Filed I-130 x 2 in person + paid 710 USD (355 each )

10/22/2007 Filed DS-230 part 1 x 2

10/22/2007 Received the document checklist and FRN (case) numbers

12/18/2007 I-130 petition approved, but I didn't know. I was away at the time, didn't get confirmation letters til I got back from the states.

12/20/2007 Notice of Approval arrives in tha mail. According to the date received stamp on back of envelope at my post box.

Will now wait til hubby is back from Iraq to fax in checklist readiness, even though, I have been ready since day of lodging I-130's. all except medical.

02/18/2008 Faxed the "checklist" back to the consulate.

02/25/2008 Medicals completed.

02/25/2008 Appt letters in mail for appt on March 7th. Cant go due to prior military commitments. Emailed consulate and received an amended appt date of March 12th 2008.

03/12/2008 Visa interview - APPROVED x 2

03/27/2008 Visa's finally generated. I emailed the consulate. they apologised for the delay. They forgot to issue the visas after approval.

03/31/2008 Received visas

04/26/2008 Flying out of Frankfurt to next duty station on orders.

Life long Texan, living in Hull, UK. How did this happen?

11 January - We met online and became friends

4 February - Became a couple

17 March - I went to Hull to meet the guy

20 March - First "I love you"

25 March - I go home :(

16 November - He comes to visit me in Texas

25 November - he leaves back home :(

14 December - ENGAGED! <3

1 March- I fly off to see my babe in Hull

4 April - I go home :(

9 October - He comes back to Texas!!!!

13 October - WEDDING!!!

22 October - He goes back to England and I continue to wait for my settlement visa.

13 December 2007 - Move to England

Now the wait begins, I will become a citizen then we will DFC back to the US.

Hey, thanks for the update and I'm so glad you're doing well. After reading about your new job and an upcoming date, even better! You are one of the few people that have made me cry and laugh within the same thread (outpouring of emotion and then...always order extra blue cheese with your wings :lol: ).

OK, another quick, update that kind of shocked me but I find utterly hilarious.

So we have been separated 7 months, the divorce became final about two weeks ago.

My ex wife told me orignally that she "wasnt ready to be married, needed to be able to prove she can function on her own etc"

Do you know where this is going???.....

well I found out today that my ex is MARRIED already!!!

Well some people have said to me "that must really hurt" but to be honest it doesnt. You know I cant bring myself to say bad things about her, and I hope she is really happy and they are married for ever but....BOY THAT WAS QUICK!!!...she has only known him 7 months maximum, have only lived together for a month...she has just come out of a marriage that didnt work and was I guess kinda rushed into a little....did she not learn????????????

I spent the past several months wondering what the hell was wrong with me, where i had gone wrong, what were my failings etc. I think Im starting to feel, following all the lies etc, that maybe she isnt the person I thought she was. Until a couple of months ago I was so concerned about losing her as a friend as well as a partner etc. But to be totally honest with you, I couldnt right now give a flying %%%% if I never heard from her again. I feel like she tried to make a fool out of me, and I feel totally and utterly let down and so disappointed. Maybe Im wrong too, after all now, we are divorced, and its her business, but I dont know.

I am sorry to hear that, but continue to act with the dignity you have shown previously and you will be ok.

Treat it as the closure of a chapter in your life that gave you many good and maybe some bad experiences. All life experiences are what make us a better person in the future.
