I agree it's different for an american female to petition a filipino male, but it's not so uncommon for a female to petition a male. Don't quite know exactly what you're asking, but the visa rules/policies and process are the same regardless of the gender.

it's not uncommon, i agree...although...they maybe a minority at this time.

also, there is not much of a difference at all...except during the medical. some of the girls had to take an earlier medical exam due to the dates of their cycle. other than that...it's pretty much the same for the guys too.

Fate is building a bridge of chance for the one you love...

Hi JelloShotGirl - Titakey here!

Our situation is the same as yours. I'm the American girl (blonde, blue eyes) & he is the Filipino male. My girlfriend (of 17yrs) and my fiance are brother and sister. She invited me to go to the Philippines for a visit and do some mission work. Had no idea that he was checking me out! But after he told me his feelings then I returned last year for Christmas & New Years. Then he asked to marry me. (L)(L) We started the visa process in Jan; application(NOA2) approved in April and interview in Sept. Took 7 weeks to be approved with help from my Congressman. Now just trying to wrap things up, but he will probably spend one last Christmas with his family before coming to see me. Since there was a delay in the approval I had to cancel/postpone our Nov 24 wedding date. :crying: Now will just wait til he arrives and pick out a new date together.

Questions? Ask away....

But NO he did not have to have Gyn appt - tee hee

We laugh about our differences too. Like going to the siminar appt with all the other Filapinas and him being the only male.

So how did you meet? Online? Have you visited the Philippines?

Know much about his culture?

Send me email if you want.

Hang in there!

Your situation is not totally uncommon, my husband was also the one to immigrate from the Philippines. We went through the whole process last year and I don't think it's much different for a male applicant, in fact some of the process is probably easier for a guy (the CFO seminar, in particular). Good luck :)
