As I wrote in a different thread, killing another armed individual on the battlefield is NOT classified as murder. It's considered combat. While the loss of human life is regrettable, it usually boils down to a situation of "him or me." In that scenario, it's best to neutralize the enemy, and live to go home to your family; you can be sure the opposition is thinking the exact same thing.

Really, I'm glad he didn't die, and it sounds like he's real awesome and brave. It's so terrible when American soldiers get killed in Iraq. Wrong place, wrong time TO THE MAX.
