Where are you looking for work? For example, have you signed up with a temp agency? Have you been applying, but not receiving any responses or are you getting to the interview stage, but not landing the job?

I was going to suggest going to a Temp Agency as well. I would physically go there, you get more of a response in person than just filling the information online. Good luck to you.

You're better trying www.indeed.com because it pulls from all the other websites so you only have to look at the one.

I found better results combing my online searches with being registered with half a dozen employment agencies. There are some excellent ones here in Southern california. Where abouts are you in SoCal? I may be able to recommend you some great recruiters. Most of the bigger companies here use agencies to fill vacancies - it helps them with the filtering process.

I live in So Cal too and my UK husband just got hired on with Home Depot and he's only been here since late October. I might try that or any other department stores in your area maybe. Also, if you're willing to do some hard, manual labor, the railroads BNSF and Union Pacific usually do a lot of hiring at the beginning of the year which may be another option. Good luck!

Get any entry level job , dont be picky, then get your experience of the working culture

try the malls, telemarkeketing,or the local transit company, this enables you to develope

confidence , speech pattern of your region, independence, and allowing you to really integrate.

Would you mind sharing your resume with me? I have written my CV and Resume and have helped other people. If you have a resume that you put out then perhaps there's something it it that are seeing and not liking.

Most hourly jobs that you apply for have just regular applications that are done online or in person (my job only takes online resumes).

What are your 2 degrees in? That might help us understand a bit better.

If you want to share your resume with me (without the address and stuff of course) pm me on the forums and I'll see what I can do with it.

Don't worry, you'll be ok :)
