has anyone had experience with filing for EAD separately and *way* late in this AOS process? we've already had our interview...months ago. we're just so freaking frustrated because we are continually told to wait...wait...wait. so, anthony's thinking about going ahead and filing for the EAD now. it's nearly 200 bucks we really don't have...but then again...if he could work we'd be so much better off.

i wonder how long it would take to get the EAD at this point?

our last infopass appointment was on October 18. at that appointment, we were told that the file is sitting on the supervisor's desk awaiting final approval...and that we should have a decision within 30 days. well, time is ticking by quickly. we will definitely be making another infopass appointment soon after Nov. 18th...i wonder if the officer there could tell us how long EAD would take?

 i'm sure i'm deluding myself.

I would think your EAD would be approved within 90 days since that is what USCIS states on the web site ... Problem is if you get your AOS approved before that then it would be a waste of money ... Very hard decision for you if you can't really afford the $180.00 ....

As far as I can see this wouldn't be much different than filing for a renewal of the EAD, insofar as the type of documentation you would send.

When you file concurrently you submit a copy of your I485 petition. Instead of that, send a copy of your NOA's for that petition to prove you have already filed.

This is what we did recently when we filed for Wes' renewal. I also sent a copy of his appointment notice for his I485 interview.

We didn't really have the money to file for the renewal either, Dani. But Wes is already working and we can't afford to have a problem with THAT. Like you we will wait 60-90 days to get the renewal. Like you it could be money wasted if the greencard arrives. But on the other hand, I am hoping against hope that perhaps by somebody having to touch his file for another set of biometrics, etc. that it could move something along.
