I love my wife very, very, very much but sometimes she is sooooo strange.

We just finished eating our dinner. Salad, and potato .

Then while I was starting to clean some of the dishes I turned to

Notice my wife pouring maple syrup onto a cold piece of left over

French toast from this morning.

She then folded it like a taco, and ate it over the sink.

Why ?

OMG! Maple syrup over left over French Toast?! You should divorce her now! No man should have to put up with that.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

another aspect you want to note, appliances such as microwaves and ovens are not commonplace in a filipino kitchen, eating "cold/unwarmed" foods later on during the day is NORMAL practice in PI, people will make food ahead of time for the family and the family members just eat when they get home or when it's convenient.

I like her resourcefulness! That's no different from eating cold pizza, chicken or anything else, when hungry. My wife eats with her hands in her country and sometimes here too which we aren't used too but in many countries, silverware is not used much. I take my wife to an African market each month to buy all of her local foods. This helped her to adjust to the US more easily and allows her to enjoy the foods she is accustomed to eating from her home country. It takes awhile for one to begin enjoying foods here which they aren't used to eating.

Heck, I used to do that!!!! Only I might have thrown some sausage or egg on there if available! And yes, also cold and leftover. Though I try not to have delicious sausage and eggs and good stuff like pancakes and french toast anymore or not so much (weight and cholesterol thing with me - wish I could!!) Where's the problem?? If there are no Filipino specific grocery stores around, any Asian Grocery will suffice as they usually have some Filipino specific foods or other Asian items that are close to them that can be used as substitutes.

If that's what you're calling 'strange' in an international/inter-racial marriage, then dude you are waaaaaayyyyyy ahead of the game. Count your blessings. Seems to me you've scored pretty high!

Me, I have no complaints with my wife. All her 'strange' stuff is cute/funny/interesting to me. Many reasons why I married her :)

God Bless you both!

Funny topic,

Salad by itself is ok for dinner as long it's huge and has a lot of pork, chicken, or shrimp on it. Cold left over french toast is a nice desert too. I guess the OP is trying to make sure his wife keeps her pre marriage figure. :D

Speaking of that, will anyone make a new years resolution to drop some pounds? We are going to try. :ot:

Is it Silver Swan soy sauce? Packed with all the sodium...

You better believe we get Silver Swan.

We went to the Filipino store just yesterday to buy some more. Of course, while we're there we also get Pancit Canton, Ginisa mix, and Nagaraya.

As long as we don't get dried fish, I'm okay.

I'm going to try to lose some pounds. I've turned into a fat pig this last year. :( I blame all the soy sauce.

It's going to be interesting. She's still trying to gain weight and I'm going to be trying to lose weight.
