How do I track our visa once at NVC

Hello, my fiancee and I received our NOA2 on December 18 2012. I do not know how to track our case number as it enters/exits the NVC and is received by the consulate in Kiev, Ukraine. How are persons usually notified, and is there a way to check status online?

You have to call the NVC and ask them if your file has been sent. They won't notify you and there is no way to check online.

Browse the link www.uscis.gov, you will find in the top left of the webpage there is CHECK STATUS with green color asking you to enter receipt number in the search box. There you go!

The OP was asking about the NVC, not USCIS.

NVC will email you requesting what they need, when they need it. There is no tracking system for this stage. But you can call them from 7:30 am- 12 midnight EST Monday through Friday and talk to a human to ask for the status. They are very helpful. (603)334-0700. Have your case number handy.
