Um, "you can see if and when it clears the bank"? I would certainly hope that no one would send USCIS a check that they didn't know with absolute certainty would clear the bank!

And if you meant you can see your case number on it, that's not true if your bank doesn't send you actual checks. My bank only provides black-and-white scans of checks, and they're usually illegible.

Bank of America provides legible scans of cashed cheks with clearly vewable writing on it, BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THIS CASE NUMBER IS USELESS FOR I-751 AS OF TODAY AS IT CANNOT BE FOUND ONLINE. So one has to wait for NOA and use case number in it. Nature and reason of this fenomenon is unknown to the contemporary science.

I beg to differ. I have BoA and all of our check scans are totally illegible, especially the stamps that get put on the back, where the case number goes. We had to wait for our NOA for AOS because the scan of the case number on the back of the check looked like a series of smudges.

My understanding is that some I-751 case numbers can be tracked online, some can't, and no one knows why.

Oh I didn't know, sorry. But our case number was hand-written on the front just below the adress, may be it's just California thing or clerks had special mood that day. But as I said it was useless anyway.

Clearly states what forms of payment that are accepted.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
