I hope everyone is having a merry Xmas since most of us are apart from the one we love. Hopefully many of you got very good Xmas presents in the form of approvals in the various stages of the visa process.

Well I am just starting out this journey. I saw Elena's profile online and sent a simple message of "Interested?". She responded back and we corresponded on the site for a few days and then suggested Skype. She did not have a camera but said she would get one and 2 days later we saw each other on Skype. We talk everyday for up to 9 hours (that surprised me the other day). After 6 weeks I went to Kiev to meet with her. We spent 10 days together and had a wonderful time.

We are now in the process of getting everything together so that we can start our life together. I am sure I will be asking about a lot of things and looking for help and advice from all of you. Thank you in advance! :)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Welcome to the forums.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

I did something similar. My message was a bit more detailed but all all in all, something similar.

I wish you best of luck and just make sure that you don't give the US Embassy there any reason to doubt your relationship. That area is rife with professional daters and people of the sorts.

It's always nice to find someone to fall in love with and spend the rest of your lives together.

Any questions about the US side of things, please let me know. You will find more information specific to your region in the regional forums and members are very helpful here.
