Can someone give me information on Affidavit of Support forms, etc for Montreal. Do they use the I-134. Where can I get instructions for it? How do I know who's qualified to fill it out for me? Does it have to be the petitioner, what if he didn't make enough.

It doesn't hurt to get a copy of the I-134 from USCIS and look it over.

The consulate will send one in Packet 3. Use that one as it's double-sided. Don't worry about there not being enough space for the notary. They've seen these before and know what to do.

As far as enough money goes, there's poverty guidlines. You have to make a certain percentage of what that is: http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/06poverty.shtml

You'll also need a letter of employment, a letter from your bank and a few other things which are explained in the directions.

CIS Office : Philadelphia PA

08/25/09 I-751 Sent to VSC

08/26/09 Package arrives at VSC

08/31/09 Check is Cashed/Clears

08/27/09 NOA

09/24/09 Biometrics

11/24/09 Approval letter arrives!

Jimmy, the affidavit will arrive when you get package 3 from Montreal I think. I can't remember because my fiance has mine in Quebec right now. But as for who can fill it out, if the petitioner does not make enough then he/she can get a co-supporter to help. There is a lot of information that is required to support someone but none of it is difficult to get. A person supporting you does not need to make alot of money, they just need to make the required minimum but I don't remember what that is. I know someone who brought her fiance here from Russia and she did not make enough so her mother filled out the affidavit. If I can find the website, I will send it to you but there is aplce that tells you how much a person has to make and what is required in order to sponsor someone. Does anyone else here know how he can find this out?
