Interview hyperthetical question

My husband has a 6yr old daughter by another woman but they were never marred.. What Im wondering is would they ask or need anything about the little girl ? Like what? Has anyone had any experience with this? Does him having a daughter have any impact on th income requirements even though she does not live with us???

The only impact I can see is if he intended to have her living with you both. I feel sure it would make a difference in the income requirements. Since she is not living with you, then I don't see where it would matter. As for asking, who knows....the USCIS can ask anything they want. Hope this helps...maybe someone else will come along and expand on this a bit more.

She will be included in your husband's household size (which, in turn, will be used in determining his required income which must be greater than 125% of the federal poverty level) IF he declared her as a dependent on his tax returns, regardless of where the child lives.

I'm not sure, though, if there are other ways in which the child will be counted in your household size.
