Approval in Guangzhou (CR-1)

Well, we had the interview Friday the 21st, my wife said they only asked four questions:

Are you a member of the communist party?

What is your husband's job?

When did your husband first visit China?

When did you marry?

All in Chinese, so my constant reminders to my wife that "the interview is NOT an english test" were for naught. Her english is good, but she heard so many things from friends in China that made her nervous may have affected her english if it had been required.

They didn't want to see any of our "other" info, of course we had everything just in case. The document turn in day was uneventful, which is a good thing!

Thanks to all that have posted good information here, of course I don't believe anything until I SEE the visa, but so far so good!

This website has been a wonderful resource for us!

I must say that we filed electronic which sped the process, which I or my immigration attorney wouldn't have known if not for this site! I was surprised the attorney wasn't aware, but no matter now. I traveled with all original documents to Guangzhou and I estimate the electronic filing saved at least a month, maybe two, for the process.

Congrats on the approval and hope you receive the Visa soon.

Yep, EP is the way to go. Darnell suggested it to me when it was fairly new in 2009 and saved me quite a bit of time.

Good luck and time to get the house in order for your wife to re-decorate.

First of all congratulations!

Well if your attorney told you he/she knows the website, probably you would check the website first before you pay check. Lol. Anyway, never heard of electronic file but thank you for your message.

It's a benefit of Immigrant Visa Processing at NVC.

You never went through this.

(sometimes ya do wait for documents, it's a pita)

Yep, forgot about that.....apparently the G-325A forms previously filled out and signed had expired (the actual government form date) while in process. Had to fill out and sign new forms to resubmit. That cost some time, due to the wonderfully efficient China post.

Thanks for the help!
