yea the embassy just facebooked me saying they are closed christmas eve:(:( dhl status just keeps saying package shipped or something like that:( when i called them they said all that means is that they have made contact with the embassy. The embassy has not released my kids visa yet because when they do dhl will say delivered on the status.... my step kids are 11 and 14. i know they are so excited. i am getting so anxious i feel like it has made me become ill, have to miss work, and i can hardly concentrate on the rest of my life. we are not talking about just anything, it is people's lives, children's lives, and i love his kids like my own, i want them here where i can raise them. jamaica is soooooo far away from where we live in the united states. so i wonder if dhl is closed christmas eve? it doesn't matter if the embassy is closed and that's where the visa is.

I'm in the same boat as you. My DHL tracking has said the same thing for over a week. The embassy emailed me Thursday and said it would be sent out by Friday but nothing has changed. He has a ticket for today but we are going to have to change it. So I'll have to wait for my Christmas present! But we should be good at waiting by now :)

one member stated on here the embassy would be closed christmas eve, christmas day, and the day after. the embassy's website states they observe as holidays christmas day and the day after. but then the embassy facebooked me they will be closed christmas eve too! i had hoped i had a chance to hear something christmas eve, they should correct their website to state that. and i have to call dhl in jamaica to find out their specific hours this holiday crazy week. but i saw they posted something about having different hours for the holidays and resuming january second but didn't clarify whazt those different hours were!

Not sure where you live in the US or what news station you watch, but the President of the US granted all federal government workers Christmas Eve as a holiday.

Also your husban should be aware of the Jamaican holidays that are obsevered around the Christmas holiday.

You really need to lively up yourself. All this stress is not going to change anything. Missing work, you should save them days for when they arrive. There are others that are worse off. Your on your way and only waiting your almost there.

Cheer Up
