Hey guys!

Am a US citizen and I had a visit to Canada back in 2009. I applied for temporary resident and was granted it 2 times.. on the 3rd time I never got a response. so I ended up overstaying for about 6 months (we tried to find out what was going on).. I want to visit canada for 5 days to spend new years with friends that I met while I was there and maintained our relationship via the internet. On my passport all there is was a stamp of entry.

I have no intent on staying, I have a good job and a house here in the US... I talked to the Canadian immigration and they just tell me its a case by case basis. I am worried if I book my flight that i will be turned around and waste money.

Anyone know or have had a similar situation? What do you think would happen when I hit customs? All im looking to do is spend time with friends for new years (leave Dec 28 and return Jan 3).. Thank you
