Our case was in the system on the 20th but no case number yet, gave the lady our email addresses and she said we will get mail. I Didn't call again (don't really believe its going faster if you a calling All the time but that's just me plus I'm not in a big rush)

Well yesterday we got the emails with the choice of agent form (it's best to chose my husband as the agent right? Since he's the one with the us address) and the bill.

So from the case being in the system till we got the emails it took 8 days, don't think that's bad at all

8 days isnt bad. I have something to look foward to. I am told the agent form is for you to designate who you want to handle all things for your visa. If you do not have an attorney, then this will be your husband. So when NVC wants something or send correspondence it will go to your husband.

Ok thank you, I guess that's the safer way than having them send stuff to Germany.

Im doing everything for my husband. Its easier. I have all of our originals anyway, he doesnt.

Hi Janelle, so I have a question :)

I just filled out the ds-3032 and chose my US husband as an agent, but when I first called the NVC I gave them our email addresses and they sent us the form and invoice stuff per email too. Soooo am I right for thinking that the ds-3032 is sort of useless because they will send everything via email anyways right?

Wouldn't want them to send paperwork to my husband just for him having it send to me because I'm the one who has to fill it out.

Sothe actual question: they will still send everything needed via email right??

TIA

The main things ( to my understandin) they will be sending is invoices, cover letters like for the aos or for the civil documents. You will have to sign the ds3032 and ds230 but the aos, fee paying, and civil docs will need to come from husband, if he has the civil docs.

I was not aware that NVC was sending things by email. I was told everything comes by mail. I guess they are stepping their game up.

Look more at the post about the NVC steps and documents. It is really helpful and it is what I have been looking at.

I agree the frequency of calls do not make the cases go faster but it helps people to catch it ON TIME when the IIN and case numbers have been assigned inorder to move to the next stage...at least for those of us in a hurry. I would not like waiting for days in between to follow up, only to realize that my numbers have been available 2,3 days or more ago.

I just want our file to move forward so my husband can come in b4 our baby is born.

NVC does send stuff by email.

you can prepare an email format or the DS 3032 qnd email to them and it will be accepted once the steps are followed( I did that lastyear and so have manypeople here without problems).

dont wait for them to send you the DS 230 and AOS forms as these are the only things to send by snail mail and could take several weeks!!! download and fill them out, have ur husband fill the AOS forms on his side. and wait for the time to send them in. NVC emails you invoices and cover letters for the AOS and DS 230 before and after you make payments.

you also get interview notice and details by email.

thank you

Just an update:

I emailed NVC last Dec 22 & just got an automated response & up till now no reply whether case numbers have been assigned.

I called today Dec 31 & mom's case arrived last week ( no specific date that she can tell me) & no case number yet. Dad's case has case number assigned.

I am going to wait until 2nd week of January & probably will be lucky to have mom's case number & IIN for both case. I want to pay one AOS fee for both petitions & process them together so they will have same day interviews.

I don't know if my call generated this result that someone looked into the case. Hope everyone will received emails from NVC today too.
